so today i had the choice to grab a used K&N FIPK or getting a new K&N drop in filter...the gentleman selling the intake never called me back to go pick it up so i went to the local advanced auto store that i know a young guy that works there...purchased a drop in filter for cheap and then went home and modded the air box by drilling some 1/2 inch holes into the front and side of the air box...after dinner my fiance and i decided to take our daughter and my nephew for ice cream, i go up the street and pull out onto the main road, get to the top of the hill and go to stop at the traffic light and the truck falls on its face hard, wont rev over 2-2500 rpms at any throttle % or when i mash the throttle, if i give it gas while driving it wont rev and moves SLOWLY, i could run faster than it, and it idles at @1500rpms and this light started flashing at me
the bottom one that looks like a lightening bolt...has anyone ever experienced this, there is no 'check engine' light...i looked in the owners book to get an idea of what it ment and it said something is wrong with the throttle body basically...could it be a stab in the dark coincidence that the electronic TB decided to take a **** when i installed the filter and modded the box, or did the mod cause an issue???
any info would be great guys, need to get it back up for monday...i used duct tape
to cover the holes to see if it would correct the issue but it obviously didnt lol. thanks in advance
