so today i had the choice to grab a used K&N FIPK or getting a new K&N drop in filter...the gentleman selling the intake never called me back to go pick it up so i went to the local advanced auto store that i know a young guy that works there...purchased a drop in filter for cheap and then went home and modded the air box by drilling some 1/2 inch holes into the front and side of the air box...after dinner my fiance and i decided to take our daughter and my nephew for ice cream, i go up the street and pull out onto the main road, get to the top of the hill and go to stop at the traffic light and the truck falls on its face hard, wont rev over 2-2500 rpms at any throttle % or when i mash the throttle, if i give it gas while driving it wont rev and moves SLOWLY, i could run faster than it, and it idles at @1500rpms and this light started flashing at me

the bottom one that looks like a lightening bolt...has anyone ever experienced this, there is no 'check engine' light...i looked in the owners book to get an idea of what it ment and it said something is wrong with the throttle body basically...could it be a stab in the dark coincidence that the electronic TB decided to take a **** when i installed the filter and modded the box, or did the mod cause an issue???

any info would be great guys, need to get it back up for monday...i used duct tape :buttkick: to cover the holes to see if it would correct the issue but it obviously didnt lol. thanks in advance

I've heard of this happening with some Hemi engines and a new cold air intake having been installed. Make sure all your connections are tight and that your airflow sensor in the intake tube is connected and oriented correctly into the airstream.

You can clear that trouble light by pulling your PCM fuse for about 15 minutes. Then, plug it back in and start up the truck. If the light is out, go for a drive but don't do any WOT passes just yet. But don't granny it either. Give it some good blasts but not full throttle.

Give the engine's computer a little time to get used to the additional air and is should adjust accordingly.

everything is place and tight...i just checked the IAT sensor and it is in the resonator box over the TB in its factory location...i never disturbed it so i am pretty sure its orientation is correct but i will double check it in the morning...only parts i removed were the crankcase vent from the airbox side and the air tube from the airbox side in order to remove the top of the box and the lower section of the box, then reinstalled everything as it was originallly...this boggles me and i am scratching my head, ive modded many vehicles and never had an issue

will pulling the positive battery terminal do the same as pulling the pcm fuse?? because i did that a few hours ago before goin in for the night

Yes, pulling the battery cable will work. I like pulling the fuse so that all the other accessories (radio presets, memory seat, etc...) don't lose their preset values.

ALWAYS remove your air box if you are going to cut it and then at least blow out the debris. You don't want to suck ANY kind of filings into the TB much less large chunks...
