how much stress would a blower put on the factory drive train? All the magazines and internet builds, you never see them upgrade anything else.

if you kept the boost at a low level like 6 or less psi, you would most likely be fine without upgrading much else

Trans will last for awhile as long as you keep away from a 2nd prime downshifts. You might also want to put in a drive line loop in it incase the draveshaft tweaks or fractures.

IMO, that is because the magazine is mostly covering someone else/s ride and are involved at most to take a few pictures during the build and some thrashing immediately afterwards. As for the real owners who are actually using the vehicle they're the ones's that see to all the details of making the package usable. The majority of us running mostly stock rides, do upgrades just because it makes our rides dependable and besides why do repairs when it can be made into an upgrade.

low boost should have much effect, throw a different pulley on there with 16psi, boom, no more hemi.

^Low boost even on a motor not designed for any sort of boost will still strain it. 5-7 is the believed safe range but after 7 its a ticking time bomb. You also have to consider the strain on the rest of the drive train... stock Hemis have broken trans and shafts much less something built.

the big thing with adding forced induction for a motor designed as an NA motor is tuning! even running 4psi with a bad tune can kill your engine.

From what I hear running the wrong gas will cause piston failure. However I spoke with my local engine guy and he said if the boost was kept less than 8 and with a tune, it would be ok. But again it has a lot to do with how you run it. Just putting a power adder on doesn't make it a raceer.

I don't think the tuning options currently available are sufficient to make a daily driven supercharged hemi. I know that some guys are doing this, but I think they're not being totally forthcoming about the issues they experience.

I know two guys who have/had supercharged hemis. One guy (who was local to me) got rid of his after a year because he couldn't get the tune as smooth as he wanted, and he got tired of dealing with second prime issues every time he got on it. The other guy had problems left and right. I'm not sure if he still has his truck either.
