I have an 05 1500 5.7 HEMI, Quad cab 4x4 and im looking into programmers, and superchips, what are the differences between the 2 and what ones would you recomend?

Most HEMI owners opt for the Diablosport units. Easy to use, great canned tunes, they accept custom tunes and have great flexibility for tire size changes, speed limiters, rev limiters, etc...

I2 or I3 will work great on your truck. Just make sure the specific one you get can accommodate custom tunes.

The I2 has been discontinued so I'm not sure which of the 3 models work on your year Ram. You can always contact Diablosport for more info.

Your choices in a new programmer, which accommodate custom tunes, are the I3 8345, the new Predator 2 Platinum 7320 and the Trinity 2 Platinum 9345.

Find you a used unlocked 3865. The you can get the trans tuning option. You do have to pay for it but we’ll worth it.

This is what I tell everyone. Do you plan to crack the engine open for more intensive modifications or just leave it stock with maybe intake and exhaust? If you are camming it or more, Diablo; you'll need the custom tuning ability. If not, get a Superchips, the canned tunes are noticeable and you can opt for the trans tuning option. That in and of itself will change the nature of the vehicle once sorted.

Unlocked either new or proof by someone selling it that it has been unmarried from the previous vehicle. They don't work the same as a programmer LMAO...it IS a programmer.

SC 3865 can commonly be found used. As previously mentioned, make sure it is unmarried to the owners vin. If not, SC will charge you around $100 to unmarry it. Most people selling them will unmarry it, but you definitely want a confirmation from them! I'm sure that SC model new is going for less than $300 now a days.

Check out Amazon, Ebay, CL, etc for both new and used. Good luck.

3865 has been superceded twice now lol. The new Flashpaq's are $350 from Superchips.

Well skip Amazon shopping then! I'm glad you pointed that out. I forgot the 3845 Flashpaq covered the earlier generations.

Also, Superchips is running a rebate offer right now for $50 bucks, so it is going for $299 after rebate new.

Something I found out when I was checking prices from Superchips, apparently right now they have a flashpaq (f5) that is custom tune capable, compatible with HP tuners. Downside is it looks like they're only for ford & chevy at the moment.
