Honestly, with no other mods, it's not worth it. The Hemi's have a pretty good air intake on them.

If you like noise, some of them will give you more of an intake roar. That could be a pro I guess? Or a con..

I've been on the fence for quite a while. I've seen one video with convincing dyno evidence and I have a close friend who's a service manager for a Ram dealer, he tells me that with a 93 octane tune and COI, I can I'll see another 50hp.

I only use 93 in my Ram as it is, I don't have a tuner yet, and I'm a little skeptical that the COI does as good of a job filtering air.

I’ve also heard they don’t filter as much. It makes sense to me as the design is to increase more air and I’m sure that increases particulates entering the system. I personally thought about installing one but it’s more to satisfy the kid inside me and then reality hits me and I realize it’s a waste of $500 unless I’m gonna do the follow up mods that would make it worth it. I also don’t want to be stuck using a higher octane etc. 89 is good enough for me lol

My friend spent his entire career as an automotive engineer, starting with AMC/Jeep, and retiring out of Chrysler. They have tested everything out there, and nothing keeps debris out of your engine as well as the OEM air filter. Short of serious engine mods, the factory setup flows plenty of air.

Do exhaust first, then a CAI.
As said, you need the whole package. The engine is basically a big air pump. You have to smooth the way from beginning to end to realize any appreciable performance increase. To get more performance, easiest thing is often just reduce the excess weight. Amazing how quickly stuff builds up in there. Good luck.
