Just as an FYI to everyone: I had special ordered 18" wheels which were spec'd to fit the truck (as the Tradesman comes with 18" wheels and previously there's never been fitment issues going up in models.

So a lot of sites and brands therefor say that an 18" wheel won't be an issue, but it is. So I found out on Friday the brakes are too big (at least on the Limited) and touch the barrel.

So no new wheels for me currently. Bummed out.

Any 18” wheel will not fit the Limited. They took a few they had in stock just to test multiple offsets.

The calliper touches the barrel.

I have factory 18’s on my Big Horn (didn’t pay for extras I will replace or got annoyed with) and they barely clear the calipers. So the aftermarket wheels will have the same OD but the inside (barrel)diameter I’m sure will always be smaller than factory.

I’m surprised they designed this wheel with such tight tolerance, one good pot hole could cause more than a blowout and bent wheel.

Seems like quite the oversight.

Well based upon this newest information, I may have to look into doing 20” wheels.

I’ll get a pic tomorrow. I can’t even fit my Speed Master wheel brush between the caliper and wheel.

OmG, they have those things with NO leeway whatsoever. I wonder what the mindset was behind this ?

So closer to the wheel ensure better braking ? I’m in no way a mechanic ( technician) so I do not know. :)

They put bigger brakes on this truck (15" rotors, over an inch larger that the DS). They wanted to have a high performance stopping and to out-do the competition. I am sure wheel fitment was an afterthought (as it should be) - and they made an 18" wheel that fit.

You can see the designed the wheel around the rotor caliper. You can see the recessed lip around the face.

I was actually excited about the 18” wheel. I like the 18” wheel with 35” tire. 20” is ok I just like more sidewall

If you were local, I'd let you try my 18" factory take offs (I upgraded to aftermarket 20's and my stock wheels/tires are stacked in my garage). Maybe someone else can help you see if a factory 18 will fit? Maybe the dealer?

Ty for the offer, I'm really looking at a specific wheel.

I'm just going to go with 20's but it sucks because I really wanted that 4 extra inches of rubber.

I have 18" factory wheels on my 2019 Laramie, but dang I like the looks of Pro Comp wheels above. Thanks for sharing, I think.

Most after market 18 inch will not fit in even the Laramie. I tried 18 inch Ultra Warlocks, they didn't work so I went to 20s for my summer tires and kept the stock 18s for snows.
