Puddle lights

Is the brightness of these controlled by the PCM like the headlights & parking lights ?

I noticed tonight mine don't seem to be as bright as normal, and one side appears to be brighter than the other.

The truck was parked near a bright outside light.

Not sure if something is wrong or not.

Take it to a dark area and check it out again. Was it the side closer to the light that seemed dimmer? It could've just been them getting washed out by the overhead light that you were near, just like how you cant really see them if out in the sun.

I did that (move it). Same difference.

The drivers side is definitely not as bright as it use to be.

Hmm. The last thing I could say is check for condensation or any water in the puddle lights. Are all the bulbs working? Maybe one went out.

They all seem to be working, but just not too brightly.

Took it by the dealer today, and they ordered a new one. Hopefully the parts will get here by wed and they can fix it while I am still here on vacation.

If you check out the DIY section ive posted how they arent sealed properly from the factory and water gets in over time burning them out slightly until they completely go out. Happened on my truck...

That problem should have been taken care of by a recall on all the trucks affected by that. My driverside took on water almost a year ago I think and the day I went to take it in to have it fixed, they told me they just released a recall for it. The funny part was I still got a notice in the mail a couple days later but I ignored of course as I just had two new mirrors installed.

They ended up replacing both of them, since the original part they got was a pass side in a drivers side box.

only did the lights tho, not the whole mirrors
