Make a recording and post it up here for people to hear , it could be many things .
4x4 or 2wd?

Does it get worse when turning the wheel ?

Does it get worse with increased RPMs ?

Does it change with the A/C on ?

Worse with the heater on ?

Is it whining only on cold starts from setting overnight or is it on subsequent starts ( after warm up with a short shut down period ?)

There has been several with oil pumps change, if the noise is familiar to oil pump someone will recognize.

You still under warranty?

Switch your Evic to vehicle information then scroll till you see oil temp & pressure on the same screen , what temp & pressure is the oil at when the whine stops ?
Do this on a cold soaked engine .

What is your idle pressure on oil that is 180° +temp ?

What type and weight oil are you using Sir ?

worse when cold 4x4 5w20 royal purple synthetic but did it long before my first oil change.
I will get a sound recording up as soon as I can. I have looked at oil pressure while its whining pressure is good and does not change. Noise stops after running for about 5 to 10 minutes, starts a low whine then tone raises pitch like a pump priming itself

Your running a good oil , are you using the Royal Purple 10-48 filter ? That's a Great filter .
I'm assuming your oil level is good ( just sayin)

Lots of thoughts on oil press on the forum, imo you should be more than 30 psig and below 46ish psig at idle with warm oil , say 180+° , imo
I'm simply comparing what my oil press is . I've heard of many with sub 30psig with no issues .

Definitely bring it back and open a claim on it , if that dealership is below par go to another !
I've never delta with warranty, but I believe you can open a claim yourself.
Google Ram warranty and find some ph # s to call , but first take it in for a warranty claim and don't take " this is normal " for an answer !

Keep us informed here on your original post , of what the dealer says .
On my 36mo. 36k warranty papers I remember there being ph #s , if you do not have yours anymore I can get mine and post the # for you.
First step is taking to the dealer .
You should have 3 recalls on yor truck if you haven't had them done , you should get them done at the same time .

Some dealers are a pia it may Benifit you to purchase an OEM mopar oil filter and install it prior to going with complaints of a possible oil pump . Trust me the RP SYNTHETIC FILTER is better but some dealers will look for anything to void your warranty.

using a different oil filter can void warranty? That would be a big fight.
Are the recalls the Air bags? Also I have a mufflex delete on that's kind of why I have been putting off bringing it in.

I also did purchase the extended warranty. I thought I read somewhere that there is a bullit out on the noisy oil pumps.

Some dealers are terribly picky , I'm just saying I wouldn't put it past some dealer tech saying the pump if failing due to a non oem part .

Recalls yes air bags and a software update , I haven't scheduled mine yet , but there is plenty info here if you search Recalls on the forum .

You may be right on the bulletin on the oil pump , seems like I read something on that as well . If I read it it was likely on this forum search "oil pump " here 4th gen eng & Performance.
