I recently switched to PUP 5w30 from PUP 5w20, after 2500km of using this weight (in the summer) my findings are that my truck runs sluggish and I can definitely notice a difference in performance (mainly acceleration) seems to work much harder to move the truck, I also found that the temp of the oil runs at least 3-5 degrees C hotter than 5w20, for those reasons ill be switching back to PUP 5w20 sooner than later.
If it wasn't so noticeable I probably wouldn't be posting about it, but wanted to give my feedback on this topic.
While using PUP 5w20 my truck was much more responsive, the oil temp was never higher than 105 degrees C and it didn't feel like it was working as hard to move the vehicle.
During all this I can't comment on anything MDS related in regards to MDS working differently because I always disable MDS as soon as I start driving via +/- on the steering wheel.
My truck is a 2021 classic, I have only run PUP 5w20 since first oil change when I bought it brand new with oil changes done every 6000km (religiously).
Perhaps if and when my truck develops a tick (non manifold related) I can explore different options as seen on the forum from many users.
