Hey guys,

New to the forums and am hoping you guys could answer a question for me. Last week I purchased a new 2013 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman. It has air suspension with Entry/Exit, Normal, Off-road 1, and Off-road 2 modes. I would like to put a 2.5 to 3 inch lift on it, with some 33 or 35 inch tires. My question is, am I asking for trouble because of the Air suspension system?

Also, does anyone know if 33 inch tires would fit nicely without doing a lift? I've searched the forums and haven't seen anyone posting any pics of an Outdoorsman so I'm not sure if this is possible.

Regards,

Hi Bobby,
I also have an Outdoorsman with air suspension and I have been considering a leveling kit. This would probably require clocking the leveling sensor a few degrees as well.

In general I like the air suspension but, I think it's a little loose compared to metal springs. On a winding road or a quick lane change the body rotates in a horizontal plane and then wobblies a couple of times. I would be concerned about lifting it much without beefed up sway bars or some other method of tightening things up a bit.

33s should fit no matter what, but I have wondered how to "lift" those new trucks with air suspensions.
