I understand that if you use the correct sized spacer under your seat that you can unhook the back portion to fold down as it creates enough clearance. So my question is, are you able to do this with the 5/8" spacers you received from Fox?

Thanks,

That's interesting. I never cared to do so, so I blocked out any mention of it on other posts. I think I read something about flipping the piece that it hooks to on the wall. I may have also seen something about grinding the hook down. To answer your question, I can't with 5/8". The bottom of the hook is in line with the bottom clip (for lack of better words). It would make adjusting my amp easier if it did, however I also wouldn't want it falling down every time I lifted the seat

Thanks ramdude. I had read that 3/4" was the sweet spot. Also, 4th gen brackets are welded so no flipping for us.

That's interesting guys, i used the supplied 5/8" spacer and i can pull the back part down no problem. However, you have to lift the bottom section up a few inches for the back section to unhook.
But to answer your ?...yes I can...atleast on my 2011 2500

Interesting. I guess I will find out Monday. I have my fingers crossed they send enough for both seats....I didn't specifically state I had a split bench so I most likely won't.

Ill give it a try. It would be nice to be able to get to my amp easily. I have a 2013 Express.

For sure, just checked it. Basically, when i lift the bottom of the seat up, you'll notice the seat back rise up an inch or two...so when the bottom is lifted to about 45 degrees, the seat back is at its highest point and can be folded forward away from the back wall.

Omg! Very cool. It works with my 5/8"spacer. I can actually get to my amps! I think I'll return that stupid extending mirror with handle that I tried to use. It's also motivated me to start on the sound deadener

Just a follow up. Fox did send me 4 spacers with my box and installed them under both seats today. I am able to fold the back down now. Perfect!

I hear ya ramdude. I'll finally have everything I need to complete my install Friday afternoon so Saturday I'll be able to finally hear the goods.
