Just bought a 2014 ram 1500 4x4 crew cab lone star edition two weeks ago. It has a rough country 6 inch lift, bushwhacker flares, and 35x12.5 tires on 20x9 mx badland wheels. The only thing is i want a wider stance the flares make the tires look smaller than they are. My question is would I be able to put 20x12 wheels on it? The offset would help , and if I went up to 37s on tires would it rub? Any suggestions? Thanks

i doubt the 20x12 fit with a 37. Should have no problem with a 35 tho or maybe even a 325/60.

Or another route is to get some quality 1.5" spacers and throw on there. Bora is a excellent brand

Ok so I would be good with 35s on a 20x12 wheel. Thanks ,as far as the spacers I've heard good and bad things but have never owned any do wasn't sure. I will post a picture of my truck in the morning. Working nights and just got off but it's still dark out

What y'all think?

I'm going to put amp auto side steps on soon , but this is how I bought it dealer had just put rough country 6 inch suspension lift, bushwhacker fender flares, and 35x12.5 tires on xd badland wheels 20x9. Do you see how the rims make the tires look smaller than they are. Think I'm going to keep 35s and go to a 30x12 wheel

The offset on those 20x12 wheels should give me the wider stance I want even with the flares

I like it as it is. If it was me I would space out the current wheels and do 37s, or spaced out on current tires. or just go crazy like the white FTS truck...

It would be more cost effective to try some Bora spacers, if that's any concern. It would take much to push those wheels out a little bit further... 3/4" or maybe an 1".

Imo get rid of the 20 inch "ghetto" wheels install 18" or 17" wheels if the Rough country lift will allow 17s , this will make the tire look much bigger and will lessen the weight at each hub for a little increase in low end tq and high end passing acceleration! Also won't kill your mpg any worse than it is !
If you replace your 20s with an 18 or 17" wheel make sure to have 5" + back spacing and go with a -24 or more for your offset .
If you want to go the bora spacer route , there's some for sale in the classifieds here ! Nothing wrong with going with spacers so long as you install them properly and Tq. Check them appropriately.

If you like the big wheel look then by all means go spacers with your current setup . You may need a body lift if you want to run 37s on a 12" wide wheel or a spacer ...

Thanks for all the feedback so far I am going to look into those bora spacers. It would be a lot cheaper, have any of you owned those before? If so did you have and problems with spacers, I've heard good and bad things about spacers in general but have not owned a set before.

Be careful lol you'll get a bunch of people that have never ran spacers telling you how bad they are lol !

I can tell you this , I'd say there's few people that have ran spacers more than I have .
Don't get me wrong I'm not the king of spacers lol But I've ran spacers on many diff 4x4 trucks and jeeps over the last 30 years . I ran spacers on one for over 60k , I've never had an issue .
It's important to install them per manufacturer specifications and regardless of what the manufacturer says you need to Tq check them in 3-500 miles if any move do it again in 3-500 miles until the specified Tq. Has stabilized . Once the tq has stabilized just tq check them at your normal tire rotation interval 6-8 thousand miles and anytime you have a wheel off for any reason .
Bora spacers are a great brand . Hub and wheel centric are the best , but hub centric is key .

Wheel spacers and wide wheels with a large NEG offset do put added stress on the hub bearings .... with that said there's a **** load of people running wide -offset wheels having no problems .
There's a **** load of people running spacers with no problems .
The 4x4 I had spacers on for 60k I installed them with well over 100 k on the truck ran them for about 60 k and traded that truck in with 275k on it with the original hub & bearings installed .

This has been my experience with spacers .I've always stuck to proper installation and Tq checked accordingly.

It's also been my experience that most who jump right onto putting down spacers have either never ran them and only read or heard of horror stories or have installed them improperly and likely did not Tq check them as needed until stabilized.

Wheel spacers IMO are a great inexpensive alternative to a more expensive wide NEG offset wheel to achieve the stance your after .

Good luck to ya sir !

I would recommend against spacers because I even talked with the dealers 4x4 specialist, and he said they can mess with the hubs or speed the process of the ball joints popping.

I speak from experience in saying that I will NEVER put spacers on a vehicle... Way too many issues with studs and hubs

And right before this, RLK started off telling how I'm an idiot for saying spacers are bad LOL

I would avoid the thin spacers that don't bolt to the hub. I ran 1.5 " spacers on my Rubi and beat the crap out of it with no issues.

Agreed. I think each scenario is different and my experience is my own. I hope that if you do use spacers that you have no issues... Make sure they are hub-centric!

R.L.K. I did "giggle" a little when you said ditch the ghetto rims. I was thinking the same thing. But I'm also working on a similar thing myself. Coming from the east coast to the left coast. I've learned (learning) that some people just grow up different, don't know any better. To you, killing a deer with a bow on opening day, or catching that 9lb bass right at sunrise on the lake is normal. To most people out here, waking up at 10am and walking their dog is their idea of nature. So when I see jacked up 2wd trucks with mud tires, -50mm chrome rims, and a roof mounted light bar. I just keep my mouth shut and look away. I blame it on mtv lol.

I will never forget the first time I noticed they were 2wd. Man my head was like a rubber band looking at all the trucks driving by me. You get cut off just slowing down to stop at a red light. And to top it off, by a brotruck that couldn't navigate over a curb.

I been all over the US and many countries with my work , you'd think I'd learn by now .
Your right though it does have a lot to do with how your raised !

I'll never forget about 25 years ago me and some buddies were hired to bow hunt deer & Hogs on a private golf course near Atlanta , while people wer golfing ! We wer never even seen Untill one day my buddy gut shot a hog and it ran off & died on the fairway .
A family was there golfing and got to it before we did , the whole Damn family was crying when I showed up the Dad too ! The kids wer teenagers ! And the parents wer talking therapy! LOL ! Hey I could not believe it ! LOL !! !
I grabbed the 100 lb hog slung it over my shoulder and said " smells like Bacon to me " and disappeared back into the woods .

Lol! Thats funny. Reminds me of a hunting show I watched once. They were bow hunting deer on a golf course, I think it fell over in one of the ponds while people were playing. Thats awesome.
