i recently got some 285/60/17’s and my pickup originally has 265/70/17’s. Will these fit my pickup or do I need new rims? Other advice welcome

The 285/60's will be almost 2" shorter, about 1" wider, have a 1" shorter sidewall and spin 38 more times per mile which is about a 6% deviation.

They will fit. You won't rub except maybe at full steering lock. That depends on your OEM wheel offset and how close the 265's are to the suspension now at full lock.
