If you can get the 8.4" out in 30 seconds... well you must have super powers. You would have to have the strength to break the center console and strength to break the main bezel... even then you still have to unscrew the radio and unplug it to not cause damage to it. Realistically this is a few minute job for a pro that knows what they are doing.

Anyways, I would just do an alarm. Does it say it specifically in the lease you cannot have it? They have t-harnesses these days so you can have an alarm installed in less than 30 minutes, and it comes out super easy. At the bare minimum a blue flashing light is enough to make them move to the next car. Also if you keep your truck dark so they can't see what kind of radio is in it... then they have no reason to risk it.

With gas prices higher than normal they also have been drilling holes in gas tanks to steal fuel. Leaving the owner with an expensive repair bill to replace the gas tank. I hate thieves! Park your truck in a garage at night. If you can't there is very little you can do to stop them.

Where did you hear this ? gas ain't nearly high enough for that crap again yet

What good is the radio anyway > Can it even be used in a non ram vehicle ??

Please understand that I am from Texas when you read my suggestions----buy a dog and buy a gun! Will not stop every situation but it will help---IMHO

FYI. Minimum clearance over the road for your fiber line is 15’6”. Thats Verizons fault that it got hit. Obviously it was well below that or the truck wouldnt have hit it.

The weather around here lately wreaked havoc on all above ground lines in Long Island. We have garbage collection 3 times a week, and I haven't had it pulled down since I moved in 7 years ago.

Either way the line was fixed the next day.

JPT, I like the brick and concrete on your walkway and driveway. Nice!

OTOH, I feel fortunate I live in an area I can leave stuff in my truck, unlocked and it will be there next time I come out. It's never even locked at work or home.

Thank you. I did dyed concrete to match the grey pavers I used for the front steps.

I have the RING cameras with spotlights mounted and they're wireless so don't violate my house lease. I think a lot of times just the hassle of possibly getting caught is a good deterrent. I've had kids start to shortcut through my yard and the motion sensor pops that light on and the walk back around and out of the yard.

Maybe something like this might help at least red flag your truck as a risk and help protect you some. https://www.amazon.com/Blinking-Flashing-Deterrent-Antitheft-Battery/dp/B00LCBIJYK

I would get an alarm.

Security is just a facade. Security steps largely just keep the honest people, honest. You can show the appearance of security but if someone wants it (your radio in this case), it's gone.

Thats what I was thinking when I read the OP lol. Not hard to do by any means but it definitely takes longer than 30 seconds unless you have Batman's strength.

Gas is pretty expensive here.

It has been on the news, they even showed one D-bag on closed circuit camera hitting a truck in a parking lot in broad daylight.

It is a wonderful world we live in!

30 seconds is all it took for the thief to slip in the window and walk away with the radio. I seen the security tape from a parking lot my friend lives in. The hit 6 trucks in about 4 mins

I would have to see this to believe it. What damage was done to the truck? I can't imagine the radio is still in a sell-able condition.

And was this a Ram dealer? Finding 4 trucks with 8.4 screens parked next to each other seems pretty rare lol.

No it wasnt all rams for this one just more then one chrysler product with the 8.4". There was 2 jeeps. The front bezel clips were all busted. All it takes to get it out is to get that front face and then 4 screws. If you didnt care about busting the plastice around it i bet you could get i out in under a minute

Yes they did. These arent your average thiefs they have clearly done this before. Even the police officers are amazed at this
