Was the Uconnect registered in your name. They will need to log into the dealership network to change the program VIN Coce. Not sure what hack they have to do this. Cameras or the neighborhood watch would be a something to make the thief think twice before trying something. Good insurance will rent you a vehicle while yours is in the shop.

Yeah but when your deductible is 500 dollars and you dont have a car for a week it can be expensive.

Change your comprehensive deductible. I changed mine from 500 to 50 for like 12 bucks every 6 months. I leave no valuables in my truck and say screw it. They covered it when they stole my truck keys left in my truck. They changed all the locks and keys for 50 dollars.

OTOH, I feel fortunate I live in an area I can leave stuff in my truck, unlocked and it will be there next time I come out. It's never even locked at work or home.

That’s the exact reason I bought property in Maine, in the middle of nowhere just the way I like it, no idiots to deal with for the most part.

Why cant you put an alarm on a leased car? i used to install on them all the time. you either give it with the car or take it out at the end of a lease. its not a big issue.

Are you worried about Work, out and about, and/or home?

For home, the only fix is a garage and/or a home surveillance system. I put in cameras with 25 days worth of 1080p recording at my house. If thieves see the cameras (they should as they have red rings at night), they will be more likely to hit my neighbors than my house.

This is what I'll be doing more sooner than later.

Amen to that...and on that note (and if you don't already), be sure the empty your truck of any valuable belongings when you take it to the stealership or shop! Who knows if someone isn't casing vehicles as they roll through the place, then passing that info on to some buddies on the street?

If someone grabbed my radio, that would be a mixed blessing. I wouldn't want to deal with the broken window or door, and being out the cost of replacement. However, I would love to get that crappy "upgraded" system out so I could put in a radio with real balls and stick in my old sub. I miss hearing all of John Paul Jones' bass lines nice and clear without fading out.
