Is it possible a battery in the key fob can create a one click on starting? Strangely I noticed sometimes it says key fob missing when it’s in my pocket.

don't have have a spare? try using that. Anything in that chain can cause this like battery in fob or rf hub and I don't even want to mention the other thing.
