Ram 1500 Rebel Starting issue

Hello everyone. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel. 164000 miles. Randomly after the truck sits for a bit when I push the start button the truck clicks once. Lights come on but no start. Twice this happened ands after a few attempts the truck starts. The other day it wouldn’t start but it started with a jump from another vehicle. I had the battery/starter/alernator tested as advance auto and it read ok. The only thing found was the CCA on the battery ready 890 while the battery was approx 115 degrees. Guy said it should’ve read closer to 950. It’s an 800 CCA battery about 5 years old.
Any advice or input would be appreciated. Thank you

Off hand I would say check and clean your battery terminal connections, any grounding terminals you can find, and starter connections. After that ????

the battery is 5 years old its done swap it out.

Check the cables first looking for corrosion at both ends of the cables. Ground side and hot side. My gm vehicles were BAD at getting corrosion on the starter end of the red cable and the battery end. Haven’t seen that on Chrysler/jeep/stelantus vehicles yet, but things happen.
I’ll bet on the battery being bad. Mine went to zero volts suddenly at five years old.

Thanks. Here’s my other question. It happens intermittently and even though the battery tested OK could it be that it loses power suddenly with one click it doesn’t even crank over the vehicle. I have a new battery. I just haven’t changed it if that’s not the problem. Does it sound like I could still be a battery?

If they tested the battery with a digital load tester, I would not believe anything those thing say, On one of mine it read good at the dealer, but a old time load tester that uses a heat coil showed a bad battery.
But as noted check contacts first, looking at a battery or ground will not tell you, take it off and clean it. with a wire brush, or sand paper. Baking soda&water will clean off green corrosion on the battery end of things.
what is the battery voltage when sitting and when running? with a meter ?

Cold preserves battery but kills capacity, of which is important to a hemi. So regardless change battery the capacity is low and move on from there. It's time anyway, so you lose nothing. If you lived in a warm state you would have changed it years ago.

The battery was changed already?? If it is OEM a 2019 RAM was built in 2018 and we are near the end of 2026 so if it is OEM the battery is 7-8 years old. Depending on where RAM sat before you bought it could be important as well. I live in the most favorable area for batteries no matter what quality I don't get over 9 years.

Battery drain is a common problem in these trucks. At least for the 2019 model year. I have a Laramie, my dad had a Limited, both have the 5.7 etorque. We both have been stranded with a totally dead battery on several occasions. The battery would be so drained, even after as little as 4 hours that the doors wouldn’t even unlock. The dealership blamed it on a bad battery but we know that was not the problem. I have noticed several times that the dash instrument cluster and 12” screen stayed on. They would stay on for hours, nothing I tried would get them to shut off. I assume this was the drain on my battery. Now I stand there and wait for all lights to go off before leaving the truck, when they won’t go off, I disconnect the battery. This has only happened to my truck about 8 times since I bought it new in 2019. My dad’s truck, however, would drain the battery every day. He had to park it with a charger hooked up overnight so it would start the next day. He finally got tired of that and traded it in. Good luck finding the drain source, I’ve searched and haven’t found a resolution.
