Ram 2012 tail lights

Hello I installed led taillights on my ram 2012 they come on the 2013+ models I purchased a harness specifically designed for the purpose of using those on my 2012 my friend with a 2011 got the same harness and got his new led tail lights running however mine only work when I brake and use my signals the running lights don’t work. Using ram LED tail lights on my 2012 too, and they’re a bit finicky. I had success adding a small resistor to the running light circuit — seems the BCM wasn’t seeing the correct load and wasn’t sending full voltage. Cheap fix and worth trying before replacing the harness.
