Has anyone gotten RAM to live up to their warranty on their engine?
So my 2021 TRX over heated because of a undetectable small leak in the coolant system. Went hot then cold within a mile.
Figured it was a stuck thermostat and drive 3 more miles home. Checked the radiator fluid and was empty. Put more in and it immediately poured out the bottom. Had it towed to the dealer and was told the engine got so hot it cooked the lower end! No limp mode just a flash warning that it was hot then back to normal. Still under the 60K warranty. This happened September 13th. It is now October 22nd and the dealer says Ram won't cover it because a hose was the cause of the leak!
Are you kidding me?
Contacted Ram Care 3 times now and promised call backs and nothing.
What do they expect people to do when it takes over 4 weeks to just get an answer back? Fortunately I have another truck (GMC) that is 20 years old with over 278K miles to drive while I wait on Ram. Slow hardly describes it. Promised 3 times now to be called back...

"Operation of the vehicle in a failed state may result in coverage being denied" <<<< Somewhere in there you'll find a clause similar to that. That engine wasn't ruined from a 3-mile drive after a warning light. You destroyed it running it hot. It's that simple.

Did they show you any parts, like the Crankshaft Bearings ??
also called Main Bearings

They would be bright Blue if they got too hot
but they are bathed in OIL

That would leave the Camshaft Bearings & Piston Rings

Flashing light is an immediate pull over and shut down engine. They can see in the computer how long it was driven for in that state. Good luck.
Blame the victim.... OK I get that. But, the lack of communication? THAT's inexcusable! Just tell him to eat rocks or whatever.... but DO it!

Ram DOESN'T Care. The rear differential on my 2016 Ram 3500 dually starting howling a bit so I took it in to a local dealership in Vegas (I'm from TX) to have it looked at. They said it needed new gears and bearings. Ok, I said fix it. Then they called me back and tell me the parts are discontinued and my only option was to buy a new truck. Seriously?! Not going to happen. I called RAM Cares and got told the same thing. They said they would forward it up for further review and follow up. About 5 days later I get an email that basically states "sucks to be you" and there was nothing they could do. Are you telling me that my 6 year old diesel truck is obsolete and there are no parts anywhere, no interchangeable parts from other model years, nothing at all, other than buying a new truck? BS! I called around found the parts at a dealership in Texas, the Vegas dealership refused to work with the other dealership to get the parts shipped up and fix my truck. I had enough. I told them I was coming to get my truck, took it to a local drivetrain shop (referred to me on this forum, thank you), and had them look at it. They said no problem, checked it out, confirmed the problem, and got OEM parts to fix it. So, why can't a RAM dealership or RAM Cares put forth any effort at all to help a customer and get them back on the road? I've learned a lot on this trip and not trusting/relying on FCA is one of them.

That sounds like "We are avaricious F^^ksticks, and we want all your money!"

You did the correct thing, telling them to eat rocks. There are SO many places to get those parts.... beginning for me in Oklahoma. Bloomenthal's. They carry American Foundries components that make OE!!!!! They are not budget friendly, but they had a huge inventory when I las bought from them (pre-pandemic).

I have never found @RamCares to actually step in and do ANYTHING right. Their first line of defense is always deny everything. Only after you threaten lawsuits, could you maybe possibly perhaps get them to try and work something out with you. I have a 3 year-old truck that cost $85,000 and the dash is literally peeling off and they said sorry about your luck. Yeah…. So there’s that…

Me, either. They are a "feel good" insert that takes months of communication to get nowhere. Lately, it has been worse than it has ever been. When you mention legal, they turn you off completely. I have had to go the legal route and won, but it is stupid that I had to do that. I think they do this thinking most will not force them but I'm retired and have ample time to make it right. I never had to go the full legal route, satisfaction was achieved in arbitration.

But what they do leaves a bad taste, and when vehicle replacement comes due, we look elsewhere. When it came time to replace my wife's 2013, she was thinking a Jeep, but we bought a Bronco because of RAM's lack of customer concern (this was over my 2015 welded drag link). When it comes time to replace my 2015 3500, if something doesn't persuade me of RAM's after-sales support, I will likely go back to GM.

Update:
Ram never covered it, but the extended warranty did. As for not telling the whole story BS! Went hot then within 30 seconds cold and no more warning lights. New engine now "only" took 3 months to get done. Just past the first 700 miles. Believe me if I get any warning I'll pull over immediately!
Stupid that there isn't an auto limp mode when something severe is wrong...even my side by sides have that.

By the way, for the guy that said I drove it hot...obviously, however the gauges read normal after the initial 30 seconds of hot readings.
Service manager at dealer said I did exactly what you should normally do...blast the hot air thru heater and the temperature drops to normal you can bet it was a stuck thermostat.
Problem on these trucks is once you lose all the fluid, the temperature gauge is useless because it only reads liquid temp not air temp.
Also, what would be my motivation to "not telling the whole story"?
