U would have to ask ShermanBird on that. He’s in Houston AO. I am way far North and partially west.Florida? You got that in TX, too. I remember the gators in the garages after the Houston hurricane.
Ram 2500 is best riding in the biz. I'm really glad I got one. And I'm not just saying that to make you feel better.
Love my truck but, if it ever needs replacing, it won’t be with another Ram.
Well…FIRSTLY…I have to publicly admit that I’ve “UN-ignored” you, Doc.Maybe. I also know he already has a 1500 from other posts, former SSV from a sheriff's office, because I'd discussed it with him in another thread.
Either way, if you want a new Ram with a Hemi and no etorque, the option exists in replacing the diesel truck he mentioned with it's current gas equivalent. I don't really "need" a 2500, but they don't make a 1500 in the configuration I want, so 2500 it is. No stop/start and a real truck bed are worth the fuel economy penalty to me. Same as I don't "need" the power of my Camaro, but vehicles aren't appliances for a lot of us so "need" isn't really the question as much as "want" or "enjoy".
LOLOL… I saw a bumper sticker the other day that gave me a laugh….U would have to ask ShermanBird on that. He’s in Houston AO. I am way far North and partially west.
No gators here just: usual mixture. Spiders, armadillos, several type of rattlers, field mouse’s, fire ants, skeeters, cows, goats etc etc and friggin ppl from CA bring their west coast BS and find out not work here lol. I know left out a lot of critters but not want 3 page post lmao.

I’ve gotten tired of seeing others respond to posts in-which you clearly must have made valuable contributions…and got tired of “clicking” on your comments so I can see what I’ve “ignored”…..to discover that, since we’re not picking on one-another, your posts are almost always informative and helpful. I’ll see if I can find a recipe to make crow tastier. LOL
( As a reminder: I was sorta “trapped” into buying this Cummins 2500 when I was out of state and my previous Ram 1500 totaled in a wreck and I needed to tow our Airstream 1200 miles to get it back home. The 1500 was a little “light duty” for what I really need…so an upgrade to a 2500 was Ok….. This diesel Ram was the only truck they had in-stock which had certain other features I needed…and I was ignorant or wasn’t thinking about the fact I really didn’t need or want a diesel. Anyway, that’s history now and I’ve got diesel I don’t need…and generally don’t enjoy because of that lack. So, I’ve Parked-it…and bought the Hemi-1500 you mentioned and use and enjoy it for my daily-driver.)
As for This-Thread…. you make an excellent point. Maybe I should see if a local dealer will make a reasonable trade on a 6.4L 2500 that I won’t take too much of a beating in the trade.
The problem now, of course, is I’ve gotten this particular Cummins 2500 set-up exactly like I Like it! (Got the trailer camera working finally, etc.)
But your suggestion has me thinking about the 6.4L Hemi. Thanks.
I'm with you there. Unless maybe I find a clean classic model, or there's big changes when they do the next full redesign.Love my truck but, if it ever needs replacing, it won’t be with another Ram.

Ordered that CAT6 yet??Hurricane > Hemi all day every day and twice on Sunday.
Pretty sure you mean 6.2L/10A when referring to Chevy.*Edit* The 6.4L/8A is the best drive train combo I've ever driven in a truck, owned, rented, or test driven. The 6.4L/10A in the Chevy is also decent, though I didn't like the rest of the truck as much, but the 6.4L/8A is king.
I constantly hear the EcoBoost blah blah, I personally know a few people with over 150K and no issues. Not worried at all. And I tow with it. I am more worried about the crappy rear in these trucks.Yeah, Hurricane @ only 3.0 liters is great. When new. As a grocery getter.
Just like Ford's ecoboost. Talk to us in 70,000 miles with frequent towing uphill. When you need another $70,000 truck cause the Hurricane wore out.
Soon! Having fun with yours?Ordered that CAT6 yet??

When you telephone someone at Shell (or any other company) and you get “someone” on the phone…who gives “assurances” their product meets some “standard” they don’t put IN WRITING on the package or in company literature….. then it’s what is known colloquially as “Bull Sheet”.I also had 2015 VM 3.0 Ecodiesel POG, I have and have had many 5.7s, My 2025 Limited HO is by far the best Gas engine I've ever had. Now that being said there's going to be a learning curve, Example 0/40w ... NO way am I going to 0w lube even in My snowblower, much less My vehicles, Plus I'm using T6 5/40w Truck Now has 12K miles and is going to be OA and serviced at 13K miles all these Miles on 88oct here's My 1st OA, the Hurricane was serviced at 660, 2300, 4600, 8800 miles. Now if this engine stays together for 250+K miles on good service diet I'll be happy. Yes I talk to Shell and T6 5/40w is SN, they are not going to pay API blood money for that certification....The Hemi a great engine No doubt, IMO the Hurricane HO out performs the Hemi in all categories except longevity that needs to time to prove, but the engine's out of the gate with a great start. That CEO just trying to promote the Hemi... likely because Rams making more $$$$ of the sale of Hemi's...Heeheee
I know higher mileage examples than that, even the little 2.7. And I own a 3.5 eco. Same thing with the ford 10 speed, which I also have. You hear about problems, but there's probably 10 people out there with no issues for every bad post you see. People don't usually take to the internet to post about having no trouble, they usually do when they have trouble. I stand by that philosophy.I constantly hear the EcoBoost blah blah, I personally know a few people with over 150K and no issues. Not worried at all. And I tow with it. Here's my take. I own a 5.7 hemi. When i bought it, my cousin told me my cams would go at 200K kms. I got worried, as it was my first ram.
I'm past that mark, and it runs great. Probably will for a long time yet, but sometimes it still stays in the back of my mind, making me nervous to put too much money into the truck.
is the hemi's issues blown out of proportion? Maybe. Some last just about forever. But some do have issues. You can't say it's an engine with an absolutely stellar longevity record, because it's not.
I don't like the bit about having no dipstick, but other than that I'd give the hurricane a try just as readily as I'd buy another hemi. Inline 6 is a good configuration, generally speaking. I don't tow heavy or anything though, either.
Yet..................no regrets moving into a 3.0TT H.O.
J/KMy next-door neighbor has an ecoboost. Cost him a pretty penny when he got a coolant leak.Yeah, Hurricane @ only 3.0 liters is great. When new. As a grocery getter.
