Ram no longer has the worst drivers, so that's something..

  • Tesla, Ram and Subaru have the worst drivers. Nationally, Tesla drivers had 36.94 incidents (accidents, DUIs, speeding and citations) per 1,000 drivers from Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2024 — up significantly from 31.13 in our late 2023 analysis. Ram (33.92) improves from worst to second-worst, while Subaru (32.85) remains the third-worst.

According to Lendingtree Ram is no longer the brand of delinquents, slipping to number two. https://www.lendingtree.com/insurance/brand-incidents-study/

Calling BS on their methodology. Mercury and Pontiac have been out of business for a decade or more, how many of those vehicles are still on the road? Companies which profit from statistics love to twist them to support whatever narrative they want to advance.

They do list their data source prominently right on the page . That means it does have a self selection bias of "Drivers Who Went To LendingTree And Used The QuoteWizard Tool" . I don't know if anyone can draw any conclusions from that, treat it like engine oil viscosity where everyone's got their own belief regardless of what might be empirical :Big Laugh:

While I agree that their sampling is basically useless...Here is a thought:

There are actually a LOT of Pontiacs and Mercuries still on the road, but a lot of them aren't driven much because they can't be replaced. Most owners of those vehicles are probably pretty brand-loyal, so they're doing what they can to keep them from getting damaged.

I have NO factual data to back this up, but if it were me and I had a Trans Am or a Marauder, I'd be only driving it enough to keep things from locking up and maybe to shows. I certainly wouldn't be daily driving it in the winter.

I'm going to agree that their motives may in question. However, they are quoting incidents/1000 drivers. That "should" normalize things. Add to that the fact that makes like Chrysler, Cadillac, and Lincoln were also "very good" indicates that it isn't a simple quantity issue.

I'm rather honked off that Oldsmobile isn't on the list. Apparently my contributions aren't appreciated.

Easy to see how RAM drivers have accidents. Every time you want to change a control, or even turn on a heated steering wheel, you gotta take your eyes off the road to find the touch-spot (often down low) on the center screen.

EVERY freakin' control on those touchscreens should be available by voice command. All that should take is a software update.
