Makes tons of sense.. they want happy customers not angry people fighting who is going to pay for what.
He thinks to win his position he needs to question peoples character, it's called ad hominem and is only supposed to be used as a strategy when all else fails. Doesn't question the science or experience, makes it about the person making any statement.

Oh !!! good lord , now you have resorted to a psychologist . It's very apparent you do not like anyone disagreeing with you , give it a rest .

I agree , but it's out of the norm for a dealership to do that . And no I'm not questioning your honesty alluded by another , it's just the opposite of what you read about dealerships handling these things , thats one unique dealership you have for sure .

Um, did you make it about me again, lol? Disagree with you? Is that what I did? huh. I thought I pointed about a challenge to a statement, now according to you a statement you made about something that doesn't make sense. So why say it? Why challenge a guy in such a way, as if somehow he can climb into the brain of the guy who said it. This is why people should just follow facts because you will lose everytime if someone is posting facts. What makes no sense as you say, is why someone would bother to say that if it wasn't true, of course it was true. But that is besides the point, I just pointed out what you were doing, not agreeing or disagreeing, just puzzled. You will do better in the future to not ride the fence and take a stronger position. Like Farmer Fran, agree or disagree with Fran, you know where he stands.

Yes, Its the only dealership i will go to for that reason. Its a family owned dealership. they seem to put people first and i can actually trust their work. They have a 2 year parts and labor Warranty for most items and that may not be any different than other dealerships but these guys I can actually trust.

Those dealerships are hard to find , I have been to a couple here in Utah that’s been pretty good , and another in Arizona. Although no idea their stance on the 67a recall.

I would imagine FCA or whomever would not be happy with dealerships giving that advice , considering how hard they are pushing the recall .

Well that was a mouthful . Getting a little testy are you . :) If you can’t comprehend what I was saying , I’m sorry . Yes that’s one unique dealership , you know , and I know that’s not the norm .

What do you think I was saying , the guy lied ,the dealership didn’t tell him to stay away from the recall , not even close to what you think I was saying, as said it’s just not the norm , and made no sense the way “ most “ dealerships run their business. They are more than happy to work on your broken truck for whatever reason .

Snap

It would look really bad for someone to get this recall before then? At a minimum, if your truck ain't broke why fix it, when this fix has nothing to do with improving the operation of your truck? Unnecessary risk!

agreed, don't do it, don't trust CA with Cummins, lest we forget the CA version of HO Cummins..

Shouldn't Cummins splinter off and rename itself "Accelera" for the completely different direction it has taken from it's early days? Your commitment to "decarbonize? the world. I wonder why you hold on to the brand name Cummins when according to your mission statement

From your mission..

Social Responsibility:
Cummins recognizes that a healthy planet and vibrant communities are essential for a prosperous world, and they are committed to contributing positively to these areas.

"Power with Purpose" Strategy:
This is Cummins' overarching strategy, which includes their Destination Zero strategy (aiming for zero carbon emissions by 2050) and their focus on creating a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment

The old Cummins we grew up on was about building the best possible diesel engines, the new Cummins seams to be completely morally at odds with what you were. You are welcome that I "was" part of the cummins community, I actually bought a CA version of the Cummins, that was so bad from CA regulation you only built them for a year. That was my last Cummins. They were great diesels now they are hoax engines, probably like this thread is. Hopefully Accelera works out since Cummins didn't.

Cummins forever did make me giggle.
So sad to hear this about Cummins! Still loving my 2010 6.7L Cummi s in my RAM. have never had a single problem with it, but then it only has 68K miles, and I'm 68 years old. Thinking it should last the rest of my life !

I got a text message yesterday from my local dealer telling me I need to get this recall done for my 18 2500. I sold that truck 3 years ago, so it appears the current owner didn't get the recall done, and it also appears that Ram does not keep good records.

There is zero reason to get this done for most people. The ONLY way it would make sense is if you were in a position where delete on failure was not an option and/or blocking registration is in effect.

The amount I DEF I DON'T use on my 17 (fully equipped) is quite nice, and I am more than happy to keep it that way. The amount of DEF my buddies 21 uses is NUTS, and heading that way is not something I'm interested in.

The pile of re-call notices is getting higher :) Time to make some fire starters.
