Hello all, I have a 2017 Ram Rebel, I replaced the stock front bumper with an off-road bumper. Although I love the look of but the stock bumper had tow hooks which bolted to the bumper mounts and also to square down tubes welded to the frame. Now that I have removed the tow hooks and bumper, the square down tubes are quite visible. I don’t really want to cut them off so I’m wondering if anyone else out there has encountered the same problem, and if there is any solution and if there is a skid plate available for the truck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There's this skidplate from Coastal Offroad which mounts to those crash compatibility brackets.

It's part of a full kit, I don't know if they sell parts individually but the kit looks pretty comprehensive.

Pretty easy to make your own with a grinder and a piece of steel

Actually I found dimensions for the plates shown above. I started building it yesterday. I’ll post pics when I get it finished. I’m planning on building it a little better and bulletproof. Thanks for the help fellas

I made my own bash plate, Out of 1/4" of course :headbang:

Dont forget to add some reliefs at the bottom for mud and water to escape. ;)

I also cut those stupid crash mounts off that extend off the frame. Cut off the front cab mount and moved it up 3" and welded em' back on  thats the only way i found to clean up the front end properly so I wouldn't see that awful ****.

Yes finished products are made from raw materials. Steak is made of hay and whisky is made of spoiled breakfast cereal. You work for free?

And DILLIGAF, absolutely yes, that’s exactly what I was looking to do. I have a full shop with everything I need to build whatever I want at my disposal. We have a gigantic pile of scrap metal so the only thing I need to spend is is my time. Thanks for the support

Chassis Unlimited.

I cut the front body mount off, welded it back to a plate and pushed it up three inches.

Also cut off that stupid Mount under the frame

So being on a budget (I’m still making 2 truck payments) I bought a China made bumper, I’m currently building the skid plates and I’ll post pics when it’s done. My next mission is dealing with the air suspension. I’ve been fiddling with the ride height sensors to level out the front of the truck. Thank you guys for being cool about offering advice and whatnot.
