So, some of you may recall, I had to have my steps replaced under warranty because the chrome was peeling off. After a little back and forth, the dealership took care of me and I was happy.
I took my truck to a different dealer today for an exhaust leak, a minor oil leak and a door rattle. The tech just called me and gave me the good news. When the selling dealership installed the new steps, they didn't install the passenger side correctly, and this allowed the steps to move up and down from road vibrations. the result is that the body (where the nuts for the running boards attach) is cracked all the way through. This was what I perceived as the door rattle I told them about.
So now I am waiting for the service manager of my selling dealership to call me back to see what they are going to do to fix it. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping they fix it without giving me the run around. Yay me.
