Gentlemen,

I did a search and couldn't find what I'm looking for. I have a 2012 Ram with heated, power adjustable mirrors. I am wanting to add OEM heated, power adjust with blinker tow mirrors to my rig. Will 2009-2016 work on mine?? If not, what years wold work without throwing codes and would not need and kind of wiring hardness adapters. Also, any other info on what would be needed to DIY this project. Thanks in advance for help/advice!

I believe those years will fit, (hopefully somebody else can confirm), but you'll need the sales code for the tow mirrors flashed so you can adjust them properly once you rotate them 90 degrees.

I read through that thread and saw that the 09-13's were the same. It doesn't tell me if '14's would be plug and play into my 2012...

Should be. I just called dodge and found a service rep willing to walk through the various part numbers I gave him and their applicable years. From what he told me most of the time newer year model mirrors are backwards compatible within the same generation. Either way, was referring to the videos in the thread for trying to help you out with the install.

Ok. Seems like what I'm finding is that the '14+ had the power fold option... So they may have just added that to the wiring harness. I just want to make sure they will work before I pull the trigger on a set of them.

Some of the '14s have power fold and some are power adjust no power fold. Power fold has a baby blue and yellow wire on it I believe.

Edit: I got this wrong this first time around. The part numbers in that thread are power adjust without power fold (Part number 68142673AD driver side and 68142672AF passenger side). I have a driver side for sale in the classifieds already; as soon as I find a power fold passenger side they'll both be for sale.

Hey Matt,

I have a 2016 1500 Limited with the non-power-folding tow mirrors. I want to change them out to the standard chrome power-folding non-tow mirrors. I am planning on purchasing new OEM parts through Chrysler and having my dealer do the conversion. Once I do this, my tow mirrors will be for sale. PM me if interested.

Hey man I appreciate your looking out but I'm actually in search of the power folding tow mirrors as well! I found a driver side mirror that works like a charm but my passenger side is still the non-power folding tow mirror version. If your dealer gives you a buy 2 get 1 free deal then snag me a power folding passenger side tow! [emoji1360]

Matt,

I see. I was confused about what you were looking for. So, you're saying that you just swapped out the mirrors and the power-folding function worked on the drivers side without having to re-flash your computer? This is good news, because in other threads I have seen where guys have had to have their computers re-flashed in order to get the power folding function to work. Some dealers either don't know how to do this or are unwilling to try. Any help would be appreciated.

So long story short is that I originally bought a complete set of 2014 OEM Chrome tow mirrors from a Laramie Limited. Plugged them in and I lost the power folding functionality my truck came with. Purchased a driver side tow mirror from a 2015 Laramie Longhorn and it was plug and play power folding. Only difference in the wiring is that the 2015 power folding mirror has a baby blue and yellow wire in the harness. So I'm in search of a 2015 passenger side power folding tow mirror.
