I got a Rambox on my 2020 2500 and I like them.

There are downsides though. The open space for high volume cargo (hay, firewood, gravel etc) is definitely less than a regular bed.

I have NOT stacked hay on the ram box bed rails and I’m not sure I should.

They are nice for keeping things out of the cab and weather.

The other downside is you can’t order the fifth wheel/gooseneck hitch from the factory. That said it all (5th wheel/gooseneck) fits in if you install it.

Just as an FYI for anyone else who may read this, the Rambox bed is just over 48 inches. Basically the same as the width between the wheel wells in a non-Rambox bed. A standard pallet measures 48 by 40 inches and will easily fit inside a Rambox bed.
Yep, I've hauled pallets and 4x8 sheets of plywood with mine. No issues at all.
Reaching over the sides is definitely more difficult. Which is where combining the MFT with the Rambox is beneficial because you can actually use the step bumper as a functional step to climb into the bed.
I have the factory wheel to wheel running boards and the bed step. They take away a lot of the reaching over issues.

Almost anyone who’s had Ramboxes will never do without them again without missing them.

Those who’ve never had them…. don’t know what they’re missing.

4x8 plywood, pallets, and almost everything else I’ve ever wanted to carry in the bed … I still do w/Rambox.

I”ve owned 7 pickup trucks…. two of them with Rambox…. Those are the Last Two I’ve bought. Every future truck will also have them, if available.

I also have used Bak-Flip hard, folding tonnaeu covers on both Rambox trucks….and have really enjoyed them for protection from rain, snow, and prying-eyes.

I routinely haul ATVs in the back, and most are a little wider than 4'... so it wouldn't work for me. I often use every inch of my box. Really like the concept, but just lose too much bed space.

That's crazy. Mine are full up with stuff I use fairly often.

My stock tire/wheel Honda ATV fits in the Rambox bed with no problems.

Love the RamBox as much as the Multifunction Tailgate!

That's fair. But the amount of lost bed space is less than most people think, and really depends on what you're loading into it. I resisted getting the rambox option with my first Ram 1500 back in 2015 because I used to haul three 8 foot kayaks side by side, and I didn't think they would fit. My girlfriend at the time had a 2009 with ramboxes and challenged me to see if they would fit in her truck. To my surprise they easily fit. I bought a new 2017 Rebel two years later with the rambox option and have opted for that with every truck I've bought since then. If you're at all interested in getting them I would suggest finding someone you know who will let you try fitting your stuff in their truck. Or even seeing if a dealership will let you do that. The second option might be more difficult if you don't have a great relationship with the dealership.

I had a 14 RAM 1500 for 11 years .. no Ramboc. My new, probably soon to be lemon law Tungsten, has them and for the 4 months Ive had it .. I love them. Absolutely. I keep one empty at all times for grocery store runs. The other I use for misc tools and such. The bed being square is just clean and i have the RAM factory divider which is very handy.

If I buy another RAM, new or used, will certainly be looking for a Rambox.
