I bought a set of these boards and they seem very straight forward to install. They come with half hex threaded inserts that supposedly go into the factory holes and they supply a insert tool and apparently they crush up against the frame and you can thread bolts into them..

Personally never used them before, but I m not having any luck. They seem like a good fit but they aren't crushing and holding in place. I m applying a lot of pressure to them. A little worried I might damage something.

Anyone ever deal with these inserts before. They seem really solid to be collapsing with a ratchet. Maybe I need some sort of power tool..

Thanks

Ok they do require a lot of torque did they come with the tool? It should have also had a little sheet that tells how much torque to "seat" them. Do you have a torque wrench?
? For you, do they mount to the frame or the rocker?

Yes, they supplied a tool that looks like a close ended wrench. And they mention a certain amount of torque for the bolts installed into them. Not sure if they talk about torque for the inserts. I ll have to double check. And I watched that video right before trying the install. ; ) I was expecting them to crush easily..

Ok I just looked and unlike MOPAR parts that have a torque they just tightened them in. I couldn't find a Ram install but here's one with nut zerts . Or rivnuts.

Yep. I ll take some pics when I get home and post them up. I originally wanted the RX1 rails but seen a truck with these and I was sold.

I wasn t sure about them after the install but they're growing on me..The RX1s I think are a little cleaner looking but these bad boys are pretty rugged. Depends what you want I guess.

I think they ll come together whenever my dealer finally gets my rims in. The truck looks a little awkward with a 6" lift, flares and these boards with stock tires/rims
