Hello I traded in my 2017 Laramie for a 2025 rebel. I want to add power running boards. Pretty much narrowed down to rough country, amp or mopar. The rough country are the cheapest followed by amp then mopar is about $600 more than rough country (this includes the flashing into factory system and they are price matching mopar online pricing) they are about $100 more than amp. I’m planning to install myself. Anyone recommend one over the others? The most important feature that is leaning me towards the mopar boards is the ability to keep them deployed using the infotainment screen to keep them down when I park to help prevent some door dings. I am currently inquiring with rough country to see if I could add a simple on off switch to the main 12v wire for the system to just keep them deployed when I leave the truck and turn back on when I come back in. Not sure if the motors have some type of auto retract when they lose power or would be off cycle or something when I jump back in and turn switch back on. The second most important thing I guess would be quiet operation. Anyone added something like this switch? And anyone unhappy with any of the above listed options?

I wouldn't base your decision on a running boards ability to stop door dings because they don't. Parking away from the crowd and walking is your best bet! I can't help you choose a brand since I don't have them but good luck with whichever you choose.

that's how i roll....park where no one is at and suffer the walk. lol

only problem with that is it sometimes becomes a magnet and attracts others to park next to me!

I have factory that came on my Laramie. Love them and not having to plug into the Obd port etc as well as integration the the uconnect is wotlrth the extra. I hit deploy so both boards are out when I park. They definitley stop the doors of other cars from being able to hit my body work. Some pickups are tall enough for their doors to miss the boards, but not many. I also have box boards that are permanent.

We offer and highly recommend AMP. They have been making them for a very long time now and are the standard in the industry. AMP offers an over ride switch that keeps the steps deployed. If you want some more info and pricing, just send me a message!

I have Realtruck.com Voltstep running boards. Installed in about 2 weeks after buying my 2025 Rebel. No issues for like 7-8 months. But they use door sensors. They are not wired into the CAN bus.
