Saturday morning my brother in law helped me install my RC 2.5” level and Upper Control Arm. Install when smoothly and it rises great. I still need to get an alignment done this week before we put my tires on.

Having had to change tires a few times due to technical reasons on Discount Tires end the final tire choice is 35x12.50R20 General Grabber AT/X on the stock sport 20s. I have spacers on hand if it need them.

The RC UCAs seem to have the right angle but I’ll know for sure once it’s on the alignment rack.

This picture loaded out of order but the truck is sitting on level ground after a test drive.

I emailed RC and was told those UCA's were only compatible with truck's with a minimum of 3" of lift. I even specified I would be leveling 2.8" and they said that they wouldn't work on anything less than 3". Hopefully you align properly and otherwise prove what they told me is incorrect.

I saw then when I ordered and I honestly don’t think 1/2” will matter. They have to tell you that to cover their asses. My truck stays on road 90% if the time and my brother in law who installed the lift with me says that all the angles of the ball joint and arms geometry looks good. I will keep an eye on them but I think they are fine.

The alignment will be the tell tale if they are ok to work or not. As far as I’m concerned anything is better then over working the stock ball joints with a level.

If these wouldn’t work with less then 3” I cannot imagine the Zone UCAs would work either with a level yet plenty of people use them. We will see what happens after it’s alligned.

That ball joint looks perfectly angled in that pic of it on the ground. I don’t think you’ll have any issues.

Update

I got the alignment done with the Rough Country 2.5” spacer lift with their upper control freshly installed and aligned and everything is perfect!

Their UCAs say for 3” minimum lift but they work perfect for the 2.5 and the alignment tech and dealership tech day the ball joint angles look great. Just tested the 4x4 today in this April snow and all is well!
