I don't care about nav, my phone does a better job than most in dash ones I have used... :)

Damn it! I need someone to help me with my stereo soon... If you guys think I am lost on some other technical issues, you don't even know my level of lost on stereo stuff! :roflsquared:

Lol well if you ever want to try and tackle it yourself we can always try to help. Knowing the level of detail you look at things with I would very much start looking for peices that you want namely the subwoofer cause Stereo Integrety is having a sale on the BM mklv. Check it out I think it might be up your alley for style and quality.

Just checked it out, looks really cool!

What would you do with my stereo??? Pretend it's all stock... The exact tweeters, doors, subwoofers, enclosures, amps, etc.???

Edit: Sorry, I shouldn't clutter up your thread... I should start my own thread, but it would have the same title as yours, lol.

Clutter away my friend partially why my thread is long right now is all the random tangents we go off on.

Well thats a tough one my personal preference is to keep things looking stock as possible. The SI BM MKlV would be a good start for a sub, as it has a very simplistic look, it is shallow and plays down to 20hz with definet authority.

Tweeters and door speakers are tough as it is all up to what the listener likes for sound. After having Dyna Audio MW150's in my doors I wouldn't hesitate to go with any of their linup for a full system, but SI also has a new 6.5 that I am going to pick up (when I can pay for the pre order) that should play really well with many tweeters out on the market.

For a three way setup the mids would either be Dyna Eostar's or the HAT L3 both have proven to be amazing in a wide variety of installs.

Amps if I didn't have the hookup that I have I would probably be running either ARC Audio or JL and if I didn't have a budget probably Brax or Sinfoni as they are some amazing looking amps.

Processing power I would probably run a Helix DSP as I can't find anyone saying a single bad thing about them and they have a nice clean look to them(will be getting one for the wifes car when the time comes).

Oem touch screen head unit as it fits the dash perfect and no one would be the wiser at what you have hidden away.

All of this would be very pointless without proper installation like sound deadener and acustical barriers. So theres a ton out there but if I didn't have a Stinger dealer that is close I would probably have RAAMAT or Second Skin in there now.

Also it wouldn't do any good without proper electrical and I would run a Mechman alternator with big three done and XS power battery. Only reason I don't now is its hard to drop $500 bucks on an alt when I do pretty well on voltage drop as both of my amps are Class D and pretty damn efficent.

Hope this can help you getting started looking and ask questions there are a bunch of us on here that do a lot of our own work and can at least point you in the right direction.

Wow!!! Thanks a bunch! Now I am gonna have to start Googling what some of those words mean! Lol!

The reasons I am asking about audio now, is that I am doing a bunch of work on my interiors right now and I could probably start some of the audio while I am ripping into things...
Example: The headliner will be coming off to be covered with Alcantara and while it's off I should probably do the sound deadening up there, right?

What kinda of budget due I need for the above suggestions, I will definitely need professional installation??

A big one LoL. Seriously though a when you're talking about mid to high end stuff plus install 5k wouldn't be out of the ordinary. Good rule of thumb is when figuring a budget get what you are thinking is a decent budget and double it since you have some custom work going on.

Ok, 5k is probably a little high. If I was gonna put $5k in my truck on one mod it would a supercharger! ;)

Let me rephrase my question: What would you put in your truck right now if you had all stock and wanted a good, clean sound, but didn't wanna go crazy with the budget??? :)

Should I keep my speakers? They are the Kicker ones in the doors and the tweeters in the dash... They sound pretty clean, but don't have much power. I also have two of those kicker mini subs under my seats, those will need to go.

Are there any decent sub enclosures off the shelf for our trucks?? I am still thinking I want to hollow out the little center seat and have the sub hidden in that...

If I went with one sub, what size should I get?

Skar amps amps(hookup and cause they sound clean) and dynaudio esotec 2ways or 3ways and SI sub's with a jbl ms8 cause you can install and tune it yourself. If that doesn't matter helix DSP.
I'm a horrible person to ask this cause I install myself. That in it self will be a huge expense. What's listed you could potentially do for less than 2.5k.

You need these. Nice clean looking and plenty of power LoL.

Those are really nice! I really don't need the most expensive system, it is one of the few things on my truck that I would actually settle on. By settle I mean, pick your brain for quality, yet budget conscious components and find someone who will help me install it... :)

Skar is about as good a mix of quality and budget friendly as it gets. You could keep ur kicker speakers, throw some power to em with an amp and add a sub or 2 and you should be pleased.

Then after a few weeks when u want better, throw a DSP on that bich!!!

Bingo!!!!!

Now that sounds great!!! Thank you! I don't know what a DSP is, but I just looked at the Helix one and it's gorgeous AND made in Germany! :happy107:

So exactly which Skar amps should I get?? And which subwoofers and box should I get??

Figured you'd like that German part LoL. The sk125.4 and sk1200.1 have matching cases and that's where I would start. Pm me for some more info on them.
