So a little bit of history in the truck. Bought new off the lot, day I bought it drove off the lot with trailer brake wiring issues. Was discovered some wires were cut and grounding out, issue resolved after replacement.

6 months later egr valve fails, Def pump fails. Replaced under warranty.

3 months later egr valve fails again. Replaced under warranty.

Over the next 1.5 years I have multiple egrs replaced, charge tube for turbo replaced cooler piping etc. Air box was replaced for manufacture defect. Intake manifold replaced. Lots of warranty replacement other than the odd item. Now along with yet another egr (this is the 9th one now at 120k) my electronics and safety systems are all failing. I get a ACC/FCW fault service now message and my truck won't build more than 8psi and makes it a slug. Shut truck off for 15 20 minutes and it goes away. Now on top of this I get messages saying power side steps unavailable please service. Blind spot alert unavailable please service and I lose all electronics I'm the cab except gauge cluster and wipers. Heat goes on High and I lose everything. I brought it to dodge multiple times they tell me nothings wrong with it and they can't recreate the problem. 3 different dealerships and same answer, fiat Chrysler Canada basically told me I'm stuck with my lemon but offered me a discount on extended warranty.

Has anyone had similar issues that fixed this or anyone have experience with these issues before I let it self park off a cliff.

TIA

sounds like you need to find a better dealership to take the truck in for repairs. Any time a dealer is about to replace a part for the third time, that's a gigantic red flag there's a part changer working on your vehicle. If there was a problem with the EGR design on a Cummins, it would be all over the forums, just like the HPFP on the trucks.

Tried multiple dealerships on the egr. I honestly don't care about the egr emissions issues. I had the truck slated to get deleted and tuned 2 weeks ago but now with all these electrical issues I don't want to spend the money to have it deleted if I can't use anything inside the truck.

If I shut the truck down for 20 minutes and restart it I get everything back and it could be good for 5 minutes or 5 days then it starts to do it all over again. I tried turning all the sensors off that I can just to see if that would change anything and the faults still come up.

Do they have a lemon law up in Canada? Just the EGR here in the states you could of given them the keys and walks away with your money back.

No unfortunately that's not a thing in Canada. Trust me I have spent countless hours on the phone with them and they basically told me to shove the truck up my ass or trade it in.

Trade it in at the dealership where they told you nothing is wrong with it. And don't let them try to knock value off because of these issues that they say don't exist. Trade in values are favorable right now, and you should be able to do okay with the trade. Seems like there issues with this truck specifically, and not with CTD HD's in general.

I would contact your local news stations and see if they would like to interview you for a story. if there are willing to help you this could go a long ways on how the dealership you bought the truck treats you. I work in construction all the time we deal with product defect and employees damaging projects all the time its apart of doing business. you win some and lose some the dealer should at least help a little to get you into a new rig.

^^^^^^ THIS!!!

Also, have you checked your fuses? I have had, on occasion, an issue where the lights on the 4wd buttons don’t work and sometimes the dome lights don’t work. Every time, I go into the engine bay, pop the cover on the fuse panel and lookie-lookie…. The damn fuse has wiggled loose.

I’ve made it a habit now, at every oil change I pop the cover and make sure every damn fuse is seated properly.

For all your possible electrical issues, try to wiggle and seat properly every single fuse and relay.

It sounds as if you have a grounding problem. The solution is probably to loosen and then retighten the ground connections.

I'm on your side here, but I'm going to tell somethings your not going to want to here. First stop posting things like " I'm going to run this truck off a cliff" . And anything about going to the press about your troubles with your truck, if your still wanting your truck repaired.
The company will shut down all attempts to help you, after you go public and speak negative. It becames a legal issue. And they a legal department that is just waiting on someone to do that. They can wear a person out in court with all kinds of stuff, that will cost you more money than you have. And what the truck is worth. So it far better to work it out with them. They want happy owners.
You just haven't spoken with the right person yet. You need the Head or Main District Service Rep for your area. You can phone him, send a e-mail telling a full and complete story. With RO numbers, Dealership names and numbers, service advisor who helped you. Your service records. Have all you paper working order. Next remember this guy or gal gets fuss at all day from **** off people. Don't be a Pd'off person. You wont get anything. They will stop hearing you. They have the power to fix a vehicle under Warranty up to 2 years out side of the 3 year 36 month Warranty.
Most likely they will setup that your truck will be sent to a dealership outside your area to be repaired. It may take a while before you get it back. So be patient, don't lose your cool.
Make sure your truck is clean when they see it, inside and out. A truck that looks nasty looks really bad on the owner. Translates that you don't care, yes its crazy but your dealing with collage kids.
I've dealt with more of these situation than I want to remember. Most time they where fixed. Only a few were not, and that was because of the owner. Very few bad vehicles. Remember the Tech's can't redesign the truck. They can only fix what the factory allows them to. Think about that. There is a lot to that.

Try CAMVAP,( Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan) to try and get your issues resolved ... I just saw a posting a few days ago where a lady finally had a settlement on her lemon Honda where she got her money back ... And it's Canadian ... Here is the link ...

I agree with RC Turner. All those circuits may terminate at a common ground that is loose or broken. When there are multiple circuit problems the grounds should be checked, tightened and replaced if needed. The complexity of current automotive electrical components is mind boggling and loose grounds cause a lot of problems. I’ve run new ground wire from bad/broken grounds to the negative post on the battery to fix some bad connections.

Tip from an Electronic Tech - while you are working to tighten loose grounds, go ahead and take them off and clean (brush with wire brush or steel wool) any corrosion and coat each and every terminal with conductive grease. The freeze/thaw cycle is hard on everything...

Does Canada have Lemon Law on the books? Sounds like you have been through the wringer a ton of times with this thing. They should give you a new truck.

Going to try and look into ground wires see if that can rule out some of this issue. The issues getting worse almost constantly cutting out everything. Anyone have any idea where the ground wire locations would be on the new Gen trucks, I have tried Google and searching the forums I might not be searching for it correctly or there is no literature on it
