Rear End Swap

I have a 2000 1500 2 wheel drive with drum brakes and a 3:55 and NON limited slip. I have a chance to purchase a 2005 1500 rear end with 3:92 gear and limited slip with disc brakes...I have hear conflicting stories that I will need to change spring and shock mounts on the 2005 to match my truck..then i hear for the most part it should bolt in? I use this vehicle to tow and like the limitied slip as well as the disc brakes..anyone done this yet?? Adivse please....
