I have my 2013 ram reg cab, im thinking about adding subs to the factory radio (currently 5.0)

in the past on some vehicles when tapping for high inputs from the existing speakers ive ran into situations where the rear speakers dont put out the same frequencies as the front ones, for example i had a chevy 4 door car, and the OEM radio put upper mids and highs only out of the dash and rear speakers and the lower bass tones only came from the front door speakers...

so my main question is, if i tap into the rear speaker in the back of my reg cab will i get all the same tones my two door speakers get, or do i need to tap into the front speaker input from the radio?

Do you have Premium sound ?
if yes the only way to get a flat signal is with an PAC AmpPro or Rockford DSR1

you have to get the amp out of the loop as all speakers speaker signal will e bastardized

if you have the regular the believe the rear doors are a flat signal and a LOC would work fine,

Personally I would use a LC2i as it has Accu Bass to help eliminate roll off, signal cleaner, signal seance turn on and clip lights

it is an effective LOC, I have one

My 13 just has the basic sound system, I currently have replaced all the speakers with the Mopar Kicker replacements and just want a little bit more bass in the system, so im not doing anything crazy, jut a LOC will be more than what i need for this truck, if i was doing anything more serious like the rest of my trucks id be pulling the head unit and going crazy with it lol

I thought the rear speakers were flat so im glad to hear some kind of confirmation, hell ill probably just give it a shot this weekend and hope for the best

if you have an amplifier that accepts high level inputs like mine does...just tap in and go to the amp. I didn't need an LCi2 at all.

thats what ive always done in this situation, i just wanted to make sure the OEM base radio didnt do some dumb tuning of their own and sent full signal to the rear

You sould be fine, nice thing about the LC2i is it cleans up the signal as well as boosts it into the 4v range

your amp will like that as the gain can be set lower

And the Accu bass function will help with roll off

im actually thinking about just one of those hidden subs for this truck, just to pull some bass out of the doors and put bass through the cab, I Definitely know it would be better to use something like the LC2i, but if i was going that far the OEM radio would go flying out the window as i am not a fan in anyway of the way the Uconnect system works, which i know me, ill do this and then ill instantly go to doing just that since i already have a few dozen spare radios laying around and all the stuff to make an aftermarket radio work in this truck

That's sweet! I always wanted to see how an 8W7 (or two) would sound if they were built into the center console.

that console has a single 12" solo baric and it sounds beautiful

the one for my show truck is going to run 2 old school team Fosgate Power HX2 12s in it, that one is being built just for those subs, port and all

Is it going to be a centre console extension off the back similar to what eestee built for his 12W7 or are you building a complete console to replace the factory one? Show truck so I take nothing for granted. They can get pretty extreme.
