Recieved wrong oil from Amazon

My fault but pretty sure I clicked on 5W20 PUP when I ordered a 15 quart case. Recieved 5W30. When I went back to the Amazon order page and tried clicking on 5W20 box I noticed it would stay on 5W30 like a default. After tapping the box several times it finally switched to 5W20. But my fault for not paying more attention.

So, for a barely broke it 2023 Limited, is it worth returning this case and re-ordering 5W20 to avoid any potential drivetrain warranty issue if something arises? Or just run the 5W30 and not worry about it? I question if upon a tic or manifold leak arising, if a dealer would go to the effort to have the oil analyzed unless it was something like STP and obviously suspect. And I live it basically a pretty warm climate in AR so I doubt running 5W30 will create any kind of issue and just bump the oil pressure up a few psi. I plan to add LubeGuard.

Run it. It's better for your motor anyways. If you don't plan on keeping the truck long then do whatever makes you feel better. If you do plan on keeping the truck for awhile I'd stick with 5w30. There's uoa's on here that prove 5w20 causes more wear inside your motor then 5w30.

I agree, run it. Technically, if it's the hemi, it is now required to use 0w-20. My wife's is a 2022 hemi limited, and I have changed the oil twice. We bought it used with 3500 miles on it. I have used 4 quarts of redline 5w-20 and 3 quarts of redline 5w-30...it seems to he a good mix for her engine. Of the 5 or so hemis we have had, this one in her truck right now is by far the smoothest/quietest hemi we have had. Hopefully that means it will live a long life!!

Look into Lubeguard.

I run Redline 5w-30 in our 2020 Limited. As already mentioned, it’s arguably better for your engine anyway.

Look into Lubeguard.

I have used the Lubeguard in our vehicles when I was using PUP. I am using HPL in my 6.4 hemi right now, and Redline in the wife's 5.7 hemi right now, so no need for the Lubeguard at this point.

Run it, better for your truck anyways I use Redline 5w30w and 15oz lubegard bio tech moly additive, royal purple 20-820 is one of the top oil filters.

You might want to read the note at the bottom.This is from the big 700 page printed manual for my 14,so it applies to the 14 in your avatar. The note was there until 2017,when supposedly they removed it as apparently the trucks wouldn't meet their milege claims.

5W20 is literally the worst garbage ever. Amazon knew you ****** up because no one that actually read the oil thread would order that crap , so it sent you the proper oil instead.

It's only the real early 4th Gens that would throw that code.

When I mentioned using 5 W 30 at my local dealership, THEY told me I could not cause throw a code. I said OK, went outside and had a giggle. But my truck is a Driveway Princess, so I just run PUP 5 W 20 and lubeguard.
