I want to upgrade my stock front door speakers. 2012 ram express. I'm looking for some recommendations. Clarity and less muddy is what I am shooting for.

Best way to do this...is go to a local shop/Best Buy...and listen to what sounds best to you. I can sit here and name off 100 brands...but everyone has a different taste in music and how they process sound.

What's your budget? If you want low cost you could put in the mopar kicker front stage upgrade, like $150

You bet. factory drop in non amplified the DS will be best, but can handle some amplification. KS would really shine with more power than headunit.

Do 6x9's still fit like they did on 02-08's? hadn't really looked into it, just popped in my head while reading the thread. Was gonna upgrade later.

The best speaker brands are in the other guys truck. Find what you like and whats in your price range and party like a rock star. Oh also make sure the head unit can support the speakers other wise it can cause damage.

I have 2 10 inch JL's in a custom box in my 2011 express 2 door, and I have run JL speakers all around the truck and also a 1000 watt JL amp.

Bang for the buck... clarity wise, pick up some Infinity Kappa 693's (6x9 3 way with aimable tweeter). They run on 2 ohm to give you head unit a little bump in power due to the load increase.

These are going front and rear in my pickup. hands down.
