I've run into the P2459 in my 2023 Ram 2500 Cummins. Reading past threads, I fit within that category of folks that uses their truck for short and long drives. Some hauling, but most of the time my trips are relatively shorter (20 miles or so) with a bunch of stop and go in between.

So this thread is to pose the question for those of us that use the truck as a "grocery getter" a lot of the time, but also less often drive them when hauling toys, campers or other tasks for longer distances and under more loaded conditions.

Is there a fuel or other additive that has been proven to reduce soot build ups and reduce the chances of the P2459 from occurring?

Otherwise, I'll just have to regularly schedule some longer drives to visit breweries that are further away to get some more highway runs and more regens to happen

I an others use Archoil 6500, 1-2 oz per 10 gallons, I use it in ever tank, but before you use the 6500 run a bottle of the 6400d it helps clean up injectors & reduce build up in the DPF. I went from a soot regens every 275-300 miles to 24 hour regens every 700+ miles, I do enough hwy miles to get passive regens in between 24 hr regens...

I usemine for a grocery/Home Depot getter 8 mo ths of the year and tow a 7k lb travel trailer 4 months. Never had a problem only saw the regen message 2 times. Both times I was 3 or 4 minutes to a destination so they never got completed.

The reason you most likely get by with the short trips is because for unknown reasons the 2021 truck's do not have the same problems like the 2022 and early 2023....
