Remote start
There hood latch has connections to wire to back of back seat for remote start computer? I looked at mine and there wrong latch on it and I don’t see wires but there remote button on my remote when I pressed it the dashboard lights up for two sec then off like there nothing happened. Plz help me.

You more than likely have an aftermarket remote start added to your truck. Not an actual ram one that was installed at factory. More than likely one added by the dealer after they received the truck. Chances are by the sounds of it. Your remote start is probably in valet mode. There are a few different ways depending on what remote start you have. First one to try is turn your ignition to run but don't start it, then press your fuel pedal 10 times. Shut off your ignition. Try your remote start another possibility is if it's an aftermarket one, cycle your ignition switch five times from off to run turning to off after the 5th cycle. Your light should flash and your remote start may work again. Another possibility is you may have a remote that says it has remote start, but you actually need to press your lock button three times.

The stealership would be the last place I would take your truck unless you're looking for continued headaches with a fat bill attached.

If you have an aftermarket remote start I'd look for a reputable car alarm/remote start shop. I know that sounds odd but there's a much better chance of success and likely a smaller fee.

If it's an OEM unit, I would prefer to take my chances with a smaller reputable shop and save $.

Try to determine the brand name on the remote start and look around for a shop.

First things first, are you using a factory OEM FOB to attempt to start the truck?

Could you post a close-up pic of your FOB?

I installed the OEM kit remote start on my 2017 RAM. The kit came with two key fobs with the remote start button and the hood latch that has the electrical connection.

I installed the hood latch and knowing it probably wasn't going to work without not having it programmed, I tested it anyway to remote start my truck and the same thing happened as the OP mentioned.

I didn't have any way to program the remote start feature and took it to the "dealership" and was charged $65 plus tax and was on my way.

I was billed $78.00 plus taxes that the total out the door cost $90.09.

I would still drive to a Automotive Stereo & Alarm Shop

Just politely ask them if they have time to look at your unit, i mean the vehicle.

What year make and model are you working on, and where is the button you push to try and start it ?

Also, when the dash lights up, does the info center show a message ?

On my truck , I have to push the remote start button 2 times to start the truck on my factory 2014,
But we don’t know what you have so hard to supply information
