replace shocks if not leaking?

Do i need to replace shocks when replace control arms, not leaking shocks.

Used as a road only truck, 2wd.

How many miles are on the shocks? Since its shocks and not struts, you could easily remove them and inspect them, see how well they cycle. Then reinstall(if still good or if their bad and your waiting on replacements to arrive). Not a perfect test but if they are the originals on your 2012, they likely are due.

I'm with Nick - they are due, not even "likely" due.
Those are 14 or even possibly 15-year-old shocks - if they are the originals. Shocks don't need to leak to be worn out.
I'm sure you'll notice a huge difference in the ride of your vehicle if you replace them. Your tires will thank you, too :waytogo:
