I went to purchase a new OEM because because the rubber ducky one the truck has on it gets real poor reception. When I went to install it it had a male connector; and so was the antenna.

I went to the parts department where they provided me this printout which seems to say the male side on the truck is normal, but they also indicated the antenna I had is the correct one.

What do I need to do to get this to work?

The antenna is correct, looks exactly like mine. I'd unscrew the stud out of the body side, bet the new one goes right in.

In your picture the threaded part still on the vehicle is an adapter mount for a universal antenna. Unscrew it and the new one will screw in.

I would get some vice grips or a wrench on that black rubber looking piece and just unscrew it. Then your antenna will screw right in. Like mentioned above, it looks like somebody put an adapter in the original antenna spot
