Results of a Bilstein 5100 leveling kit

Just installed a bilstein 5100 leveling kit and set it at 2.1 after hours of research here. The result is a very slight rake but much better then stock and satisfied. My question is... will this settle??? I do not want to lose any height and kind of regret not going with the 2.8 setting even with the potential wobble. Thanks guys.

I was more talking about the bilsteins settling. I can't lose any height at this setting.

That is what I was afraid of. Will the bilsteins settle that much? Any bilstein owners with them on a few months or better out there? Did it settle?

It's more so the springs settling then the actual shock itself

Thanks, good to be here. I decided to run them at this setting and if they settle I will take them uo to 2.8 and get another alignment.

Some blame the decrease in gas milage on the winter additives. I also see a decrease in gas milage. I would hate to think it had anything to do with lifting the front 2 inches.

Part of me says yeah, it's probably the winter formulation of fuel...but yet part of me says, the aerodynamics changed and possibly altered the mileage for the worse. I dunno, I'm not an engineer lol.

My G8 drops 2 mpg on winter fuel and another 2 when I put the Blizzaks on. I track it like a hawk for tax reasons and can see it happen via my iOS app.

I could feel the weight difference and the handling since going to 305/55/20 from stock size and I also saw the drop in gas milage for sure. The stock feels lighter and easier to steer also.

Moving that kind of unsprung weight WILL eat up the fuel.

I noticed a slight reduction in mileage after my level install. Not a lot, maybe a half a mile per gallon or so. But the truck looks a lot better with it so I guess it's worth it!

Would I notice much difference running 89 or 92 fuel vs 87 as far as mileage goes then? I may try this as I love the look with Bilsteins on and it being level but don't like mileage at all.

I have been playing this game for many years and IMO you will not see any change in mpg using a higher or lower octane. If there ever was it would be hardly noticable. You will notice knocking under load with lower then recommended octane.

I think my loss in mileage is more the new tires than the leveler. I can still get up to 21 mpg on the highway. Notice I said "up to". Around town I only get 10.1 to 10.3. My tires don't roll well and I can feel them slow the truck down at lower speeds coming to traffic signals and stop signs. That's the nature of AT's. Gotta have 'em if you off road.
