Hello,

I just bought a set of quad headlights to try to do a retrofit. Seems a lot of job but not too much hard to do.

The first step is to buy the projector and the hid kit.

For now I have a h11 kit that have bought on distinctive hid 5 year ago. No complain at all for this kit. Work flawlessly for the last 5 years.

Here everyone seem to for the Morimoto jj sells.

But what is the best ?

To go with the Morimoto mini h1, or to go with a d2s bulb projector ? ( DDM Tuning: HID and LED Lighting )

Both of the projector seem to work well.

Also there is a trick to center the projector ?

Also how do they connect to the h11 of the truck ?

35w or 55w ?

Pretty sure there is a step by step thread on how to retrofit quad headlights that jj posted on here. I followed his thread for doing my 3rd gen and didn't have any major snags.

I found a thread they said to put the light in oven at 250F for 10 minute. I checked after only 4 minutes and the upper tab is half melted :banghead:

I don't what to do since one of the tab is missing and the 250f advice seems obviously not right .

I did mine at 200 for about 12 minutes. Still a bear to get apart, but with time they came apart with nothing broken or melted

I did just to insure a good seal when I put them back together.

If you go morimoto they dont make a d2s projector that fits the quads, mini h1's are pretty easy to center, need to put them together and install on truck without lense to adjust angle of the beam, to connect to h11 you simply get a h11 kit with h1 bulbs, connections from hid bulbs to ballast are the same regardless, 55w 4300k-5000k

A good epoxy might work for the tab, thats weird that it melted, i used 260 on bake for 15-20 minutes, clean old sealant real good, recomend butyl to reseal, black rtv silicone works good too and easy but way harder if you ever need to reopen
