ya Im on nights also, luckily I don't have to bear the weather at work, and to the rest I find -30 to -40 here feels like -15ishC downsouth in the Toronto area, much less humidity in the air so it doesn't seem to chill you as much, if that makes any sense lol

These temperatures are ridiculous. The lowest my hometown here in SoCal saw was 35°F one night and it was like the end of the world.

Oh I agree. You can't dress for the humidity. Goes to the bones. Very dry cold here and tons of snow. It's the wind where exposed flesh has a 10 minutes before frost bite.

Not much you can do in 40 mph winds 150 feet up a tower. I'd take that over the humidity in Eastern Canada thank you...lol

Well I know how you guys feel. In Saskatchewan and it's been just a cold here. Everything you guys get comes this way eventually. Glad to head the lights are working great, ordered a set from JJ at the Retroshop and just waiting for them to arrive!

*******!!! You aren't livin unless you live in the Great White North! Spent a lot of time 10 miles from the water ( as far North as you can go before you hit the frozen ocean) in the NWT's. I like this livin in Calgary now - it's warm and they have Chinook's !

Lol, I've worked it all too. Spent time in Norman Wells, currently working in Conklin, and living in Calgary. Best thing about Calgary is the Chinooks, almost makes winter bareable when I'm home, if only they didn't give my wife migraines. Anyhow, my RS HIDs are performing flawlessly even with the temps we've had lately.

Lol. I'm in Edmonton now. Spent time once in Alert. 50 miles from the north pole. Yukon as well. Polar Bear training and winter survival.

Most of my work is in Northern Alberta, and no chinook's.

Been doing the pipe trades thing for 23 years now up here with 90% of it outside all year round.

*******..... funny. And from Calgary... lol j/k :bleh:

Mine as well. The AMP Power steps didn't like the -30/-40 much, but everything that JJ did was fantastic.

Hate Conklin. 881 gets some stupid weather. I try to avoid it as much as possible. Conklin, Ansack, Long Lake, Connico Phillips, Surmont, Opti, Devon Jackfish ..... Basically anything north of Grasslands (63) and Lac la Biche (881) if I can help it.

Ft. Mac is down right depressing. I won't even go to town if I'm in Suncor or Syncrude for fear I might just keep driving south...lol

Lol Heywood, I hear ya. Luckily I get flown in/out for my shifts so it's not so bad for me work-wise, and my new position keeps me inside about 60% of the time, so I'm loving it most days. Though, the snow storm we had roll in almost trapped me in my shack with the drifts, I couldn't push the door open and had to call one of the other guys to dig the door out.
