Rough country bull bar with LED installed.

Well, after much research I settled and installed a RC bull bar. It doesn’t cover my plate, has built in LED and is textured black which was all my criteria basically. The install wasn’t as easy as they make it seem especially alone. And the instructions are terrible in my opinion.

Surprised not much info out there on these!!!

If you’re installing one on a sport style bumper the air Dam is a F-ing nightmare to remove as the bumper flexes with it. Also a nightmare getting back on. Don’t expect to get all the clips back in either.

The bumper supports will also need to be cut/shaved down unless you don’t mind the bracket forcing down on it. I wasn’t comfortable having to bracket constantly pushing down on the bumper support.

Couple cans of beer, half a pack of smokes and lots of swear words later the thing is installed. I just gotta run my wires and run the switch in the cab. I will be adding a switch later when the weather warms up. Today is 14 F and the wind is 55 Mph. So I needed a break indoors as the wind was driving me nuts and freezing my hands stiff.

It needs to go 1/4 inch towards passenger side, however, I’ll tackle that when it’s 85 f outside. Not 14 f.

Got the wiring done and took me a while as I am very thorough with wiring and cleanliness etc.... I mounted the crap switch that came with it under my steering wheel and turned out alright. It’ll do till the weather warms up [emoji17]. I got my rocker switch project to do and add those rear LED lights too !

I’m happy with the bull bar and hope it holds up to our winter!!! I will probably apply some paint to the visible hardware, again, when the weather warms up ha ha. F&$k I hate winter.

In the instructions they had how to install with tow hooks. So you still may be able to!

I tossed them. I’m sure if you email them they’ll send you a copy. The one on their website is generic as I just checked it

From what I understand the mounting hardware for the bull bar mount to existing points where toe hooks are mounted. The bull bar might block you tow hooks tho

45 min east of Toronto lol. I don’t even wanna live here but it’s where I was born..... I have family in Florida and I’m thinking of moving there

Canada has great hunting and fishing and nice people but crap weather and no guns! Florida might be too extreme the other way. I keep an eye on the Port Charlotte Fl weather report because I have a house there I rent out and it was supposed to be 91 there today. Sometimes the heat and humidity down there are unbearable!

My inlaws moved there and were renting for years so I said if you're not going to buy, how about we buy a place you like in our price range and you can pay us? the rest is history. We have only been there three times but it is nice there in the winter. Don't go around easter, spring breakers over lap the snow birds and it is crazy crowded. Pier fishing was awesome!

I have the same one sitting in my garage. On my "to do tomorrow" list but tomorrow never seems to get here.

Any tips on that air dam? Especially the cutting of it

Looks good and I'm thinking that's the way I'll go. If the LED fails, is it something you can replace or a done deal?
