Sad! I have 09 with some rust on passenger side cab corner as well. I think I’ll just sand it off and cover with VHT rust converter. I don’t really care that much how it looks would just like to stop it. My truck is almost 10 years old but spent 4 years in Minneapolis MN area and the chemical and salt use there is unreal. It just eats the paint right off.

My 2013 has rust all over it, it's made it completely through the drivers side fender bubbling up the paint. I'm in South Texas absolutely zero salt on the roads here.

My '09 is rusting really badly. Right side cab corner, rear of front wheel well, top of rear wheel well. With 133K miles it drives like new, but it is getting ugly.

I have noticed that people seem to have rust issues especially with the rocker panel area. I have a new 2018 2500, I was putting on step bars a couple of weekends ago, and I noticed that the bottom of the rocker panel has rubber plugs every 8 inches or so, down near the pinch weld.

Should a couple of these plugs be removed to allow water to escape? Or is the consensus that doing so will allow more water & debris into the rocker panel?

After washing my 17 today, I noticed the drivers side rear fender well is starting to bubble from the inside out. I'm pissed, it's bubbling bad enough already that I can peel the paint off with my thumbnail and exposed raw rusted steel.

My truck came from the factory with rear wheel liners installed. I truly believe these are big culprits for wheel well rust, as they likely trap all of the road spray from under the truck in between the liners and the inside of the bed body.

I have aftermarket 13" wide kickback mudflats installed to prevent rock chips all over the body from the terrain around here, I'm scared of what I'll find if I remove them to drop the rear liner and apply fluid film.

Normally I fluid film everything I own, but haven't got around to it on this truck other than the insides of the tailgate seems and the door jams and hinges. At this rate my box will be eaten through in no time and it isn't 2 years old yet. at a loss of words here on what to do.....
