Finally got the S&B CAI installed on the 13. I like the way it looks, but there are definitely some fit issues on the 13 rams. I also bought the optional scoop, but that is not installed due to fit problems.
1 - the AC line that runs under the fender edge that the instructions say needs to be "adjusted slightly", would not adjust enough for mine. I finally had to modify the S&B air box using a heat source and a pipe to create an "indention" in the box to clear the AC line. Once I had modified the box enough, the rest of the install went OK. Sorry I didn't think about taking pictures at the time, just trying to get it installed.
2 - The holes in the clear lid did not line up with the ones in the air box. I had to modify the holes, elongate them so I could install the screws. Also, the clear lid does not seal against the top of the box. I have seen other comments on that before. Guess I will try some foam weatherstrip to see how that works to seal it off.
I have attached a picture of the final install.

Now the scoop. There seems to be some sort of mounting point on the frame of my truck that sits directly where the scoop is suppose to sit. I have attached a picture of this (circled). If anyone knows what this is for, please let me know. There is nothing attached to it, but there is no way the scoop will install because of this.

Mine was an easy install. For the ac lines I just had to unbolt the bracket and move it forward an inch and tighten back up. My bolts for the lid lined up perfectly. I also used weather stripping for a perfect seal. I think it is hit or miss with the 13. Some are harder than others to install.

Added the picture of the frame.

There must be a lot of variation in how that AC line is located. When I unbolted the bracket and set the box in place on mine, the AC line bracket was pushed so far up that there was no way to even get it close to attaching again. I probably made at least an inch indention in the back of the air box, and the AC bracket is as far forward as it will go to get it to fit.

I’m curious about the section coming off of the frame that you have circled too. I saw them the first time I changed my oil. I’m guessing ether a jacking point or a mounting point for a bull bar, or both.

I don't have those on my sport.

That's what I'm wondering, but not sure why they would be on an R/T. There is a threaded hole in the center. Thinking about cutting them off up close to the frame so I can attach the scoop, there is nothing attached to it.

I do believe that is where the tow hooks attach.

Plow mounts guys... my 11 has this and a buddys 12 has them and he has a plow mounted to them. tow hooks mount to the frame behind the bumper.

with my BL i cannot use standard tow hooks, so my plan is to utilize these and mount hooks to them, and create an angled back brace into the frame to support being pulled on.

Let us know how that turns out. I've had issues on steep, wet boat launches and this sounds like a winner.

Serious, thus far T/C (and some fat a$$es sitting in the bed) has saved the day. No tow hooks or attachment points what-so-ever on the front of an Express. If your get-up works that might come in handy if I need a little tug pulling my boat out of the water.

The first time I went to pull out on a steep launch, late in the afternoon (when it's nice and wet and slick) I regretted not buying another 4x4, but it's too late now....

To to OP sorry for the thread jacking.

My plan all hinges on how far down below the bumper It is so tow strap isn't being pulling upward into the bumper itself causing damage.
Mine might work out better than it would for you as I have the 3 inch body lift.

I read on their web site that it would not fit certain build months of the 13's

My tow hooks were mounted there. The Curt front hitch receiver mounts there too. I use the front receiver for a winch mount and small plow.

I just found this diagram in an online service manual, not for the 13 but has the same frame layout. Looks like they are for the tow hooks. Guess it's not going to hurt anything to cut them off, I'm not going to be attaching tow hooks or a plow to mine.
:hmm:

Mine was pretty good, after I unhooked it and pulled it forward a little bit, it was able to be bolted back on, and there was even some clearance between it and the AC line after that. maybe 1/4" or 1/2" enough to fit my fingers through.

I think my issue is still with the AC line. It is pushing on the back of the air box, causing the attachment tube for the scoop to be tilted in toward the center of the truck. This is causing the scoop to be positioned in line with that hook mount instead of to the side of it.
I will do a little more mod work on the AC line and air box before I look at cutting anything on the frame.
