S&B CAI Installed!

I know there are ton of these posts on here but figured I'd put one up too just incase anyone was having difficulties choosing a CAI!

Here's a pic up of my S&B Cold Air Intake that I got from Moes Performance. I installed it yesterday and must say that it was a breeze! Maybe took me all of 30 min to get it fully installed. I am also stoked with the quality of this CAI. I have installed many CAIs in the past and would put the S&B up against any other company hands down! Plus, it came with very detailed install instructions with photos that I could see being very helpful to someone that has never installed one of these before. I have only driven the truck roughly 15 miles, and so far all I can say is that it has changed the tone of my exhaust under acceleration and has slightly increased throttle response!! All in all, I'd say I'm extremely happy with this product so far! Now I am awaiting the arrival of my Catch Can to protect future investments!!
Once I receive it, I'll snap off a few more photos!!

How's this any different in air flow, power, routing than the stock intake with just a higher flowing filter like a K&N?

The stock intake tube is shaped like an accordian which restricts airflow. It also only pulls air from the fender where the S&B pulls air from both the fender and a downward facing scoop. The S&B filter also has a larger surface area which is going to bring in more air. It is not a huge power increase, but it is definitely better than the stock unit.

You can definitely tell a major difference in the air flow & throttle response. Now I just need to get a TB installed to use it to its fullest potential!! You can also tell a difference in the intake sound when you get on the gas due to the increase air flow (sucks like an old high school girlfriend!!). It has a more deep and throaty sound than stock....
Also, my MPGs have gone up about 2 MPG since the install.

One of the main reasons I went with the S&B intake vs the Vararam was due to the clean & almost stock look. Thanks for all the comments!

Same reason I went with S&B over the Vararam, I figured the dealer would barely even notice the S&B, but they might freak out if they pop the hood and see the Vararam.

Now you guys really got me excited to get my cai put on, ordered it yesterday from moe's with the 87 tb. I will be sitting on the front porch the next 3 days waiting for it to arrive.

I wish my engine bay was that clean.
