I ran some seafoam through my motor, and halfway down the road my check engine light comes on. Now the truck is hesitant taking off from a stop light.

Any ideas?

I'm waiting inline at autozone to pull some codes

Did you let it sit, then let it run till all of the carbon was done burning off throughout the rpm range?

Yes, I let it sit with the motor off for 5 mins like it says on the can, like I've always done on any of my vehicles. Then as soon as I started driving it, it ran like ****. There is no more white smoke coming out the exhaust, I ran around for about 30 mins.

It seems like it runs almost like it did before I started, but the check engine light is still on

I would reset the pcm to clear the code, then start it up and run it through the rpm's to get it hot enough to burn off watever is left in the system.

The light is off now, I guess some carbon got caught on one of the o2 sensors.

Awesome!! You usually undo the battery or pull the pcm fuse. Is the truck still acting up?

No, it seems to be running fine now. The guy at autozone is a ******* *******. He said it probably messed up a sensor and that I never should have done it with only 53,000 miles.

next time try just starting the truck and revving it like stated before till all the white smoke gone, vs. letting it sit then immediately driving it. Not sure if that will make a difference, but that is what i have read and seen on how to do it

Similar problem, had a friend Seafoam it yesterday after changing Valve Cover gaskets. Waited 5 minutes, then a 3000 rpm idle for several moments until smoke cleared. Check engine light is on and it runs rough as hell. Borderline non operable.. I attempted to warm it up on the roadway, when I got to about 30 mph the CE Light started flashing. I can still smell Seafoam as well. I removed and inspected all 8 plugs (5.2l) and all looked great, changed about 20k ago and plug wires as well, Distributor cap about 1k ago. I used my Autel to read codes, P0300, 306 and 308. Im really at a loss guys, any help appreciated. Also worth mentioning, a new Cat about 30k ago. I have 108k on it now. I also get :
CAT NOT READY
EVAP NOT READY
O2s NOT READY
And MISFIRE READY?

I dump it in my oil and gas tank every third oil change and have never had any problems.
