Try hitting your lock button 3 times, PO may have installed an aftermarket remote start.

THIS was it!!!

I gave it a try this morning and away it went! The 2 times that it did the mystery start, it must have done the equivalent of a pocket dial.

I may be mistaken, but isn't a Grand Cherokee close to the TOP of the Line of Jeep models ?

Grand Cherokee L is the top model for jeep right now. They are nice. The Cherokee L has basically the exact same interior and styling. I wouldn’t mind a Grand Cherokee if they offered a blacked out edition. All I have seen is chromed out.
