Looked around for this and didn't see a thread for it. What brand of serpentine belt are folks using on the 5.7 engine?

The factory ones havent let me down in the 15 years Ive been driving Hemis. So why not use those? I get it if you change pulleys and supercharger, but factory accessories, factory belt.

Well, mainly because while I will pay $45 for an OEM belt if there's a good reason to, I'd rather pay half that for a top rated aftermarket belt. :) I know that in the past (15 - 20 years ago) it was either Dayco or Gates who made the Mopar belts.

I second the oem belts, but for aftermarket i prefer the goodyear belts

I was looking for the part # for a GY Gatorback, but it looks like they've been renamed to Continental Elite and lost the green color to the backing?

I used gatorbacks when I had a few supercharged vehicles with good luck getting rid of belt slip.

And to further answer my own question, it appears that Goodyear Gatorback became Continental Elite, which has now become Continental OE Technology. Yeesh!

^^^Very real changes in the m,manufacture and quality of this part today. In our truck group all the diesel guys run the Goodyear Gatorback. The rest with Hemi's run Gates or Goodyear. My 6.4 came from factory with a Dayco (bad manuf run) Changed it out to gates at 40 miles. Edges were not sharp cut and a bit wider than spec. Too many of these belts are being jobbed out over seas. Quality control is not good.

I have used the Continental Elite on our Jeep Wrangler and it looks just like the Goodyear Gatoraback I had on my F150 (F150's are known for belt squeal under hard acceleration).

I just put the Elite on the Jeep this past summer, I am surprised they have changed the line already.

It looks like you can still get the Elite for now until supplies are gone.

I wonder why they wouldn't keep both lines instead of the all or nothing mentality.

Choice is a good thing and the design of the Elite (former Gatorback) worked for belt squeal.
