5.7 L Hemi: Belt started making a little noise. Treated with belt dressing & sound went away. She is 9 years old (2011) and has 45,000 miles. Can the belt be tightened or should it be replaced? Thanks.

Has an automatic tensioner on it. If it’s cracked or worn it’ll need replacing. If it’s loose may have a bad tensioner or belt is stretched

If the belt has not been replaced in a while, I would replace it along with the tensioner. Part number for the belt would be K060795 and the part number for the tensioner is 38323. Both made by gates. It is an easy replacement so I would just go ahead and do them both.

Thanks, guys!

PaulTGarrett, wish I had read your post before I started the job. Replaced the belt successfully & she runs perfectly! Now, if the tensioner & idler pulley just hold out.

Bought the best belt O'reilly had. Wanted to buy Mopar, but getting in & out of any of the dealers in Bellevue, WA is an ordeal. Opened an account on the Mopar site thinking I could order online, but was referred to area dealers. Feel the site was deceptive in that it appeared you could order online.
